universally worshiped as the game-changing classic in doomy death metal genre, the only New York trio's longplay [1990] is a five megaton blast of slow pulverizing heaviness, opening the portal to new dimension of desolation, achieved through then unexplored, pioneering, oppressive sound that later has got a tag of funeral doom - though technically it was not the slowest music imaginable, with crust punk bits breaking through here and there, the searing, atmospheric, partly harmonious, but also the heaviest, low-end, detuned character of [de]compositions invoked a special vibe of nuclear wasteland and attracted only a certain part of metal underground, heavily influencing the development of doom and sludge subgenres; recent deluxe double black vinyl box set edition, limited to 600 units, comes in a cardboard slipcase, and features no less kvlt 1989's Eternal Frost demo tracks on the second LP, with one extra grim ambient song added from 1994's re-issue, with addition of 32 page vinyl sleeve sized booklet, revealing every possible memorabilia taken from the mythic era
