WATAIN

Release Year: 2023
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: mesmerizing infernal black metal live

black metal audiences are well aware of expressiveness and impact of Watain live performances, while their meticulously conceived recording for the band's 25th anniversary, celebrated in Stockholm in October of 2022, became more than just a concert document, instead serving as a deliberately staged opportunity to capture the unique bond between the band and the audience, exchange of energy forged on stage, and primal, psychedelic atmosphere that musicians themselves regard as an essential part of their mission; powerful performance allows the listener to experience ferocious intensity of a live setting, accumulated stagecraft and ritualistic nature of these shows, while carefully selected setlist spans different periods of a creative journey, turning this release into a chronological reflection and tribute to devoted fans, seeking not only to bear witness to the past but also to convey what takes place on stage here and now; limited German gatefold sleeve double transparent yellow and red vinyl edition comes with a pro-printed four page lyric insert
