the first part of this grandiose two-part saga tells a dark story conceived by Blackie Lawless about a troubled orphan named Jesse Slane, who possesses telepathic abilities and learns to use his powers to attract crowds and become their worshiped messiah; however, as the author himself stressed, it is not a rehash of The Crimson Idol, instead exploring broader questions of human identity, faith, the meaning of life, and even existence of god, because we all are the Neon God; musically, W.A.S.P. deliver fiery performance, offering a wealth of memorable songs whose melodic ambition and energy recall the glory days, while dynamic rhythms, heavy riffs, soaring choruses, and theatrical arrangements lend the narrative remarkable drive and grandeur, and Blackie's powerful, flame-fueled voice heightens its dramatic impact; relatively rare authentic European pressing comes with twenty page booklet
