Without Morgöth, the absolute embodiment of evil imagined by J.R.R. Tolkien, earliest demo-era recordings of Voivod would be unthinkable - fittingly, legendary innovators of heavy sound mark their fortieth anniversary by once again stamping it with the seal of chaos, turning eleven track album not into a nostalgic greatest hits collection but into a distinctive return to the primordial phase, where punk fury, thrash metal aggression, and cosmic dystopian imagery resonate like a signal emerging from radioactive ruins; thus, the re-recording of cult compositions functions not as an attempt to polish the past, but as an opportunity for current line-up to breathe new life into glorious riffs of Denis “Piggy” D’Amour, revealing details once buried beneath rough production, and demonstrating how exceptional creativity has naturally evolved over decades via live performances without losing their paranoid futuristic identity, while bass performance by rarely appearing Jason Newsted on Rebel Robot places a perfectly ripened cherry on top of the cake; European black 180g vinyl edition comes with four page sleeve sized booklet
