seems that the best that could happen when three respected extreme metal musicians have joined creative forces together has actually happened, and expectations were certainly exceeded - having in mind that blackened death metal idea was developed since 2015, nine track opus is ripened according to the best veteran traditions; most intriguing thing is of course the twisted riffs of Blasphemer, familiar from Mayhem era, that sound here in completely different context, fitting the gloomy nature of music in much more expressive manner, where the drum machine Flo Mounier feels like a fish in water, and the commanding baritone of David Vincent sounds the most effective, allowing the compositions to burn slowly yet steadily, balancing ritualistic tempos, oppressive atmosphere, sudden bursts of aggression and cold melodic lines – the musical potential is so strong that this collaboration feels inevitable, logical, and seemingly dictated by higher forces; French digipak edition comes with additional poster
