VARATHRON

Release Year: 2018
Artist Origin: GRE
Style: haunting atmospheric occult black metal

when feeling is considered, this record is perhaps the closest to the mythical early nineties era of Hellenic dark/black metal scene, but both compositions and performance are far superior and more intricate to what Varathron were capable of to deliver in their starter days: dynamic nature does not take the haunting atmosphere away, melodious streams juxtapose the dark passages in a damn effective way, and it is no shame to admit that Necroabyssious has finally reached a magical state of mind to balance the enigmatic music to perfection, while modern means of sound recording lift it up to a brand new level, backed up by Homer inspired lyrics; digipak edition with 16 page booklet is limited to the first press
