THE GREAT KAT

Release Year: 2024
Artist Origin: USA
Style: fast aggressive rebellious speed metal

Katherine Thomas story is indeed exceptional - she burst into the world of heavy music rapidly and unconventionally, after classical violin studies prompting to radically change direction and spread chaos through the electric guitar, delivering a level of virtuosity many masters of the instrument could envy; contract with a dominant underground label immediately following the introductory EP led to the recording of this debut longplay [1987], demolishing the standards of provocative speed metal through spontaneous, wild, and eccentric songwriting, not only slicing through masterful solos but also adapting classical music formulas into heavy, devastating form, while striking lyrics radiate arrogance and an emphatically untamed personality, drawing even greater attention to herself; recent Dutch machine-numbered silver 180g vinyl edition with a pro-printed lyric insert is limited to 1000 units, copy #461
