fifth full-length [2014] by northern visionaries is a logical continuation of the musical course the four-piece have taken on the highly acclaimed previous longplay: it is genre borders' transcending experience, blending post metal and fundamental hard rock with mesmerizing melodies and psychedelic brushes - as varied and at times appealingly bizarre as the landscapes of their native Iceland definitely is; expect the unexpected, such as seduction by subtle strings or hypnotic banjo, where gloomy guitar harmonies complement enchanting motifs, while atmospheric interludes and engaging guitar flourishes create elusive, ever-shifting mood so that this album needs to be heard again and again to peel back layers of details, each different and yet always revealing the same: purely genius composing; recent thirteenth gatefold sleeve double black vinyl edition with pro-printed inner sleeves is limited to 500 units
