suicide thoughts, unconditional self-destruction, and periodical abuse of human flesh and mind - these three topics, as well as catchy yet pernicious music are the reasons why you must at least hold the third album [2002] of Swedish plague in your hands; in other words, this is a masterpiece of depressive suicidal black metal, recorded for the first time with a full line-up, including notorious Hellhammer [Mayhem] on drums, that has brought them to the stage of worldwide recognition, where gloomy guitar melodies trade places with sudden bursts of speed, slower passages further thicken the atmosphere of despair, while Kvarforth’s vocals, shifting from subdued humming to maniacal shrieks, turn each track into an increasingly profound insight into claustrophobic inner chaos, merging into a cohesive, unsettling and still emotionally effective experience; special limited re-issue by original Italian label is presented in an A5 sized digisleeve - fold out jakebox package with UV prints on cover and standard booklet
