the prodigal sons fully return to their roots and recreate a vibe that reminds the world why this music is so highly regarded in the first place [2011], reaching a heightened state of sonic equilibrium, where all the most significant Samael elements are put on display, fusing militant industrial rhythms, ceremonial keyboards, and metal’s primal thrust into a dense yet controlled architecture of sound that feels both esoteric and corporeal; much more organic and fluid production, loads of atmosphere to set up a distinct mysterious mood, characteristic Vorph's growl and melodic menacing guitar work make this opus their blackest, high trance-inducing album in years, in spite of its blinding title!; recent Austrian three panel digipak double disk edition comes with a remastered sound, twenty page booklet with updated design, and no less than seven bonuses on second CD, coming from Antigod EP [2010] in shape of remixes, live and orhcestral versions
