SACRAMENTUM

Release Year: 2022
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: infernal blackened death thrash metal

if first two Sacramentum albums captivated with the coldness, melodic refinement and atmospheric cohesion of blackened death metal, then this third full-length [1999] deliberately struck with considerably more rawness, shedding some of the polished guitar layers and turning toward more straightforward death/thrash metal, where heavy riffs, abrupt tempo changes, intense rhythms and frantic guitar solos become the main driving force, while the late Nisse Karlén’s harsh, rage-soaked vocals only reinforce this aggressive shift, yet the sense of harmony never disappears with memorable guitar lines repeatedly breaking through the furious sound, so although Thy Black Destiny lost some primal magic, its feverish, technically accomplished character remains a distinctive and singular statement within the scene of its time; recent Dutch red and silver splattered clear vinyl edition with hot foil print on cover and pro-printed lyric insert is limited to 300 units
