Style: epic thunderous power heavy metal

ninth studio longplay by Swedish heavy metal institution reveals a concept story, dealing with dramatic events and atrocities of WWI, where contrast between the brutality of merciless war and the heroic sacrifices made by soldiers is reflected in highly expressive songs - extremely catchy, grandiose and fist-pumping power metal sounds remarkably upbeat for an account of bloodthirsty mass destruction, yet it emphasizes the inevitable offensive towards eventual victory this way; compositions are built on a pronounced marching rhythm, strong choruses, and simple, easily recognizable melodies, while orchestral and choral parts expand and reinforce the sound, with vocals resembling an omniscient narrator creating a documentary-like atmosphere; exclusive and limited three panel digipak "history" edition comes with wood-imitating design and spoken narration introducing each song
