the glorious breakthrough, a definite magnum opus, progressive metal nirvana, iconic release for the die-hard fans, this seminal third album [1988] by "the thinking man's metal band", the standard to which all concept albums are compared, garnered them a massive commercial and critical success, regardless that earlier releases were also damn exceptional - complex, intricate, ambitious effort with top-notch music and engaging dystopian storyline sounds real effective while combination of innovative, partly experimental, progressive approach with shorter, more direct heavy metal songs turn into damn distinct and dynamic record; recent European edition comes with a remastered sound and two live versions of album songs as bonus, nailed in London in 1990 and 1994
