interest shown by Italian label became an important impetus in creative journey of the French depressive black metal five-piece, yet for Herr Suizid and his companions label support did not mean having to conform to external expectations or rules dictated by critics, as their identity has always been rooted in a personal vision, emotional openness, and loyalty to bleak musical world reflecting inner struggles, where creativity becomes not an attempt to please the listener but a form of introspection, allowing despair, alienation, and existential anxiety to be transformed into sonic expression, while such steadfastness lends compositions authenticity, keeps them at a distance from fleeting trends, and allows to develop their own aesthetic consistently, even as growing audience attention inevitably brings new expectations and interpretations that Nocturnal Depression refuses to turn into guidelines for its creative direction
