The empty shells of gods is not the most usual concept of two EPs designed to preserve the cohesion of different creative periods and moods, so instead of a full-length album more fragmented format is chosen that allows archival and newly interpreted songs to unfold more clearly, while nearly forty minute three track first chapter features a symmetrical structure where two long epics are separated by melancholic instrumental title track, with guitars building rich, elevated harmonies over slowly moving riffs, while the engaging vocal delivery ranges from deep growls to whispers, maintaining MC's characteristic bleak atmosphere but also subtly introducing warmer, more hopeful shades, giving this dark yet refined recording additional emotional depth and impact
