hands down legendary, one of the first recordings [1989] ever forged from the most fundamental crown jewels of pioneering Floridian death metal movement shines bright up to this very day: a storming milestone of an official debut with a classic Azagthoth-Sandoval-Vincent-Brunelle line-up violently blasts, grinds and batters through the listener's skull - crafted for few years before entering studio, nine dogmatic, intense and menacing compositions with a blackened spirit immediately blow away by feverish riffs, then-unbelievable technical virtuosity, ritualistically immersive atmosphere, and occult dramaturgy, where every beat, soloing and tempo shift shapes merciless yet spellbinding whole, while its possessed lyrics put an evil mark on your mind, turning into both a manifest of extreme expression and historical reference point for the bludgeoning genre of musick; recent British digipak edition comes with sound remastered in full dynamic range from original master tapes
