MOONSPELL

Release Year: 2021
Artist Origin: POR
Style: enigmatic dramatic blackened dark metal

after a few quite experimental records, this fifth studio album [2001] of Portugal's premier crew sounds as a great comeback to a more structured, harmonious, melancholic and detailed material, mostly combining their early black/dark metal tradition with newly introduced sensitive, elegant strokes, what usually make critics and fans tag them a gothic banner - the opening title track alone is an unbeatable monster sporting an avalanche of climaxing dark melodies, strengthening the approach each time the musical flow becomes hazy, with the rest of material to strongly follow; first time since original edition - redesigned gatefold sleeve black wax version with a pro-printed insert and bonus Ozzy Osbourne Mr. Crowley cover marks twenty year anniversary of this recording
