eight outstanding cuts witness absolutely solid return [2004] of Norwegian black metal legend to ultimately ravage, intricate, complex and archi-technical black metal, akin to mesmerizing and penetrating spirit of Wolf's Lair Abyss times, when it was necessary to prove that updated line-up is capable to write relevant enough compositions; this time the cursed sons focus mostly on extremely aggressive musicianship, balancing on the edge of human limits, where Maniac firmly fronts the helm, viciously shrieking his lungs off, spattering pernicious anthems of hate and misanthropy - the title song is perhaps the most representative with its enchanting atmosphere, yet the rest of the album is equally insane experience!; recent French gatefold sleeve silver vinyl edition is strictly limited to 500 units
