KREATOR

Release Year: 2021
Artist Origin: GER
Style: innovative experimental gothic/atmospheric metal

one of a kind, the most experimental album [1999] of infamous Teutonic thrashers has caused most of their fans simply spit in the face of the band at the time of release, yet it does not make the essence of this innovative music any less impressive, in spite of some decisions not so common for Kreator; thrash traditions give way to more atmospheric, melancholic sound, filled with electronics, clean guitars, and dark, almost ritualistic melodic passages, while gothic vibe of the album is built along with Tilo Wolf of Lacrimosa's fame, who also does guest vocals on the title track, and orchestral arrangements were done by the professionals as well, with post-apocalyptic vibe of some tracks clearly linking it to gritty Renewal era; recent German three panel digipak double disk ultimate edition comes with additional Children of a Lesser God cut, twenty eight page booklet and remastered sound on first CD, while second CD has an original sound version
