Manala is the realm of the dead, a mythic place found in old Finnish folk literature, guarded by Mana, a god of death - technically it could make the Korps nail a way darker slab of sorts, but such proposition is totally wrong, as they look like having maximum fun even in hell, staying honest to their own way in writing music, building an energetic, loud and upbeat set in the best tradition of folk metal genre; good thing is that twelve tracks reveal much more diversity in rhythmics, guitar interplay and even singing departments, creating a deeply atmospheric and authentic set with more than a few hit songs, where each track tells a vivid story through dynamic melodies of kantele and accordion, thunderous percussion, and enthralling vocals, all crafted to envelop the listener in the haunting beauty and timelessness of heavy-weighted folklore
