Style: dynamic agressive rough black metal
violent, grim and uncompromising black/death metal rages on perhaps the most adventurous record [1997] of legendary trio with rough, totally uncompromising sound that was later admitted as a mistake [it is arguable though], yet it made this release an exceptional chapter in both Immortal discography and Norwegian extreme metal evolution as well, moreover that it was a direct follower of Battles... material; Mountains of Might is hands down all-time classic of the genre, while entire focus falls upon the ultimately epic frost-demon-storm concept, and it was the last album to feature Demonaz guitar performance, and the first to introduce Horgh on drums, while Abbath was still a bass player; recent gatefold sleeve black 180g vinyl edition is limited to 700 units
