groundbreaking return by Quebecers three years ago was not a random shot in the dark, and this 33 minute long mini album [2016], featuring a singular bombastic composition, divided into seven chapters, is a great confirmation that genius of Luc Lemay and his cohorts is continuously developing: Gorguts' most adventurous step yet is less intense and more experimenting, shapeshifting in atmospheric direction forth and back from nervous, dissonant complexity to sullen visions and ambient interludes, marking up this mammoth with a remarkable songwriting, bursting forth as a cohesive, intellectually hypnotic flow, filled with subconscious tension and visions, where heavy character becomes an expression of mature ideas, continuing bold, conceptual phase within an ever-evolving sonic trajectory; recent gatefold sleeve marble silver vinyl edition with an impressive 60x60 cm poster is limited to 400 units
