EVILE

Release Year: 2021
Artist Origin: ENG
Style: intricate dynamic intense thrash metal

it took British thrashers eight years to gather focus, prepare, refine and properly deliver their fifth studio album, not without the initiative and enthusiasm of newly joined second guitarist Adam Smith, who significantly raised the level of energy and dynamism back to what Evile displayed at the beginning of their career - pounding, cohesive and motivated nine-tracker directly reflects on personal losses, inner struggles, grief and the will to survive, opting for a similarly open, organic musical approach by returning to sharper riffs, straightforward rhythmic structures and blistering tempos, complemented by an abundance of Gustave Doré illustrations in twenty four page booklet that reinforces the album's gravity and thematic weight, while the unexpected cover-reworking of Mortician Zombie Apocalypse deserves a special mention too
