sons of vikings once again find impressive ways for a new triumph: pushing the atmospheric black metal boundaries even further, they deliver monumental epic metal per se, portraying elaborate avantgarde, progressive elements that make this grandiloquent opus [2003] their most innovative and massive album to date, also setting the direction for further musical development, which they accurately keep following; Dirge Rep [ex. Gehenna] lays fundamental drum tracks on this epic, while lead guitarist Arve Isdal has just joined in, giving the band much deserved renewed inspiration and impressive multidimensional energy with his piercing solos, defining a cohesive sonic framework, developed through layered content with subtle transitions; French gatefold sleeve marble blue vinyl edition with pro-printed lyric inner sleeve and updated design is limited to 500 units
