seventh studio album of acknowledged sound magicians is also among their most blatantly aggressive offers, continuing the progressive metal legacy in a heavier mode that already been noticeable on previous longplay: seven insanely intricate tracks are shredding with dark edgy material and all the requisite superhuman musicianship that fans of this supergroup have come to traditionally expect, where John Petrucci's guitar becomes the dominant form of expression and lethal element, drawing the listener into relentless intensity, while riffs act as a driving force shaping an uncompromising atmosphere, with lyrics reaching for deeper and darker personal themes, contemplating inner struggle, doubt, guilt, and self-discovery
