DEVIN TOWNSEND

Release Year: 2023

Style: expressive atmospheric progressive metal live

conceived by a mad genius of musical expression, Devolution series was born out of lockdown despair, and this third installment is represented by a live recording captured at the very beginning of the pandemic, where, ironically, the opening track was recorded on stage of Montreal’s Corona Theatre, while all remaining songs come from Boston on March 1st 2020 - as title suggests, eleven tracks celebrate Empath album, yet in reality a larger portion consists of Devin's greatest hits from earlier releases, which fit perfectly alongside the expressive newer material, and since every Townsend live performance is unique in its own way, surprises are to be expected, while talented accompanying ensemble helps create especially wild, theatrical atmosphere and delights with organic, high-quality, and heartfelt performance; limited European three panel digipak edition
