title of Eon 3 track serves as direct allusion to the demo tape era of Darkthrone, when grim, massive metal was gradually giving way to far more intense and aggressive musical passages that soon erupted into a black metal avalanche, whereas on this, Norwegian duo's most recent studio recording, slower and heavier sound prevails, rooted in tradition of classic heavy and doom metal, where distinctive riffs, restrained pace and dense, nostalgic atmosphere take center stage, allowing Fenriz and Nocturno Culto to return to the roots of early metal once again; although conventional black metal is largely absent here, its spirit is still felt in the oppressive mood and vocal delivery, so eight compositions were warmly received by dedicated fans, mostly appreciating the organic sound and maturely sustained old-school aesthetic; British black vinyl edition comes with a pro-printed lyric inner sleeve
