everybody perfectly knows these guys now, but back in 1993 they were just starting quite adventurous path of harmonious death metal, or Gothenburg wave, that has exploded exactly with this first full-length: during demo era they did not stray far from Swedish underground death/thrash context, but with this longplay debut highly distinctive, dramatic and melodic approach has been presented, further elevated by superb production at Soundscape Studio that also played significant role in shaping a new musical direction that this release shares with Sentenced's second album, completed nearly half a year earlier; nine tales of dynamic, passionate, blood-boiling and most sincere music is a must have also because vocals for it were handled by Anders Fridén, who later moved to In Flames, while Mikael Stanne was busy playing guitar; recent Japanese edition comes with a remastered sound, updated design, OBI strip and extra booklet written in Nihongo
