legendary old school extreme metal album [1991] now sounds stronger than ever before: the most kult disc of early era has defined the trademark approach of heavy and catchy, simply unbeatable bulldozer-like sound with mournful, grim, all-destroying vibe, where merciless riffs are accompanied by awesome solos and exterminating grunt of Karl Willetts, while slow, menacing guitar passages alternate seamlessly with sudden bursts of speed, precise drumming barrages, and relentless rhythmic force, further emphasizing the uncompromising, war-machine-like musical direction - anthemic Cenotaph is the essential hymn of the whole British death metal movement, and one more detail - it was also the last recording accomplished at Slaughterhouse Studios, UK, which was destroyed in a fire right after this monster was finished; British gatefold sleeve black vinyl edition comes with sound remastered in full dynamic range from original master tapes, and pro-printed inner sleeve with authentic design
