BELPHEGOR

Release Year: 2022
Artist Origin: AUT
Style: intense dynamic blackened death metal

marking a culmination of Belphegor’s long-term refinement rather than rupture, the latest hot off wheels full-length strikes a rare equilibrium between suffocating aggression and austere clarity: measured, ceremonial interludes sculpted from discordant chord progressions and drone-like layering alternate with precision-engineered blasts, while vocals shift between guttural invocations and searing blackened rasps, emphasizing both depth and abrasion without redundancy; compared to the raw immediacy of early releases or the militant density of mid-period output, this impressive chapter embraces space and contour, letting tension breathe before striking with surgical force, resulting in one of the most compositionally mature and atmospherically commanding offerings, not as a reinvention, but as a sharpened ritual blade honed through decades of relentless evolution; strictly limited gatefold sleeve black vinyl edition comes with a pro-printed sleeve sized eight page booklet and re-recorded Blackest Sabbath 1997 medley as bonus
