Artist Origin: USA
Style: gruesome sick savage death metal

a pivotal classic of ugly, sick and utterly savage death metal was developed during the uncompromising underground era, after Chris Reifert left Death to focus on his own band with a macabre vision: couple of demos and a deal with young but dedicated British label later, the groundbreaking debut longplay was a fact [1989], innovatively fusing elements of doom, thrash and punk as well within its original and influential heavy-weighted repertoire; eleven morbid cuts are a living proof that extreme metal can effectively live with raw production too, resulting in highly disturbing yet also engaging combination, when slow tempos alternate with sudden bursts, and dirty riffs plus growling vocals shape claustrophobic sonic armageddon without embellishment, where Steve DiGiorgio [Sadus] performs bass parts as a session member; deluxe double digipak re-issue commemorates the album's twentieth anniversary, expanded and culminating with two brand new written songs, recorded in September 2008, five live tracks [1990], eight previously unreleased rehearsal demo cuts [1987-1988], and two Retribution for the Dead EP [1991] compositions - essential, compulsory item!
