AT THE GATES

Release Year: 2013
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: catchy dynamic harmonious death metal

an ultimate must have second full-length of innovative dynamic expressive Swedish death metal [1993] by this legendary five-piece, brave and forward-thinking at the time when most of others were eager to stick to the conformist route, experimenting in spades yet maintaining tight and poignant delivery: Raped by The Light of Christ, Stardrowned, Ever-Opening Flower and Non-Divine all sound killer even thirty years after being recorded, hypnotizing with its peculiarly melancholic vibe and philosophical angle of lyrics, digging very deep into themes of faith's collapse and inner turmoil, echoing unpredictable yet highly impactful music, dramatically strengthening its emotional field; recent black 180g vinyl edition comes with publicly not mentioned Discharge The Nightmare Continues cover, while specially remastered sound does not take away the authentic hardcore spirit and vibe!
