ANTROPOFAGUS

Release Year: 2022
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: chunky intense technical death metal

led by guitar player Francesco "Meatgrinder" Montesanti, Ligurian four-piece has been furious and relentless since their inception in 1997, gaining more and more strength over the past decade, and their recent fourth full-length fully proves the uncompromising attitude when it comes to ferocious death metal, leaving no room for sentiment - plain extreme and choke full of meaty riffs, this music cements an unyielding attitude, spewing and gargling sheer extremity packed with dense, twisting, flesh-ripping riffs that recall the precision of Nile or the suffocating intensity of Hate Eternal, yet with a darker, more organic edge that pushes their sound beyond technical showmanship into something genuinely crushing and ritualistic, making this record far more focused, devastating, and superior statement than anything Antropofagus has unleashed before; marbled black "galaxy" vinyl edition with a pro-printed lyric insert is limited to 300 hand-numbered units, copy #96
