Style: powerful expressive viking death metal

third full-length album [2001] by dominating Scandinavian viking death metal purveyors continues with the same powerful and majestic approach crystalized on few initial records - even with no big novelties, this clearly determined entity is expressively focused on their victorious quest, shifting attention toward massive walls of guitars and powerful emotional impact, taking extreme metal to its epic grandeur while maintaining feral energy, music's intensity and overall angry direction, reinforced by a precise, heavy-hitting rhythm section, at times even pretending to throw some complexity in that is missing on their later works, so such a roller coaster ride in nine chapters functions as a demonstration of unstoppable combativeness that certainly deserves an honourable spot among the highlights of the genre; recent European edition comes with a remastered sound, extensive liner notes and archive images upgraded booklet design as well as Possessed Eyes of Horror cover track as bonus
