WITCHCRAFT

Release Year: 2018
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: psychedelic doom metal / hard rock

hot on the heels of debut album's success, Swedish rockers strike back with ten more infectious songs, declaring the same basic thesis of addictive vintage genre which sounds as a throwback to heavy metal, hard rock, and psychedelic rock amalgam that was initially blooming in late sixties and very early seventies, adopting the according production; at this point still too little people were taking them seriously, yet occult-tinged sophomore longplay [2005] establishes the cinematic direction with lots of effective riffs, memorable passages, and melancholic vibe behind, while refining songwriting with greater dynamic control and emotional depth, and on top Magnus Pelander's haunting vocals and lyrical mystique further elevate this material, giving it timeless character and understated yet enduring impact
