SOILWORK

Release Year: 2010
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: expressive groovy death thrash metal

with the return of guitarist and founding member Peter Wichers this explosive eighth studio longplay by dominating Swedish legions is a definite full force comeback, where riffs take on a sharper edge, more often built on solid, rhythm-oriented foundation, melding aggressiveness and intensity of metal with genuinely catchy choruses and lush harmonies, enhanced by subtle electronic details and atmospheric passages; adding on top of that remarkably technical, complex twist with unpredictable drum and even vocal performances, such a diversity works in quite an impressive way, highlighted by abrupt transitions, unexpected breaks, and dynamic tempo shifts, making the final result genuinely hard to resist; limited digipak edition comes with a bonus Sweet Demise track and 30 minute DVD, featuring the Making of the album and studio footage
