SHINING

Release Year: 2025
Artist Origin: SWE
Style: destructive suicidal depressive black metal

as one might guess from the cover's color palette and direction, this is a companion release to 2023's full-length, containing six tracks in total - covers of Entombed, Alice Cooper, Danzig and Thåström, a brief instrumental, and previously released single Ugly and Cold, sung in English; speaking of the covers, they once again confirm the breadth of Kvarforth's musical tastes, yet take on a distinctive form - Shining transposes them into its own bleak, cold and dark world, emphasizing heavier guitar tones, more dramatic vocal delivery and characteristic melancholy, while the final track serves as a bridge between outside compositions and their own material, adding a gloomy, murky and depression-charged piece to mini album while offering a glimpse into behind-the-scenes workings of the latest studio sessions; Swedish black vinyl edition with additional A3 sized poster is limited to 200 units
