Rapture were standing strong together with other most prominent Finnish entities of gloomy dark doom metal, and at the cross of millenniums their debut longplay [1999] was triumphantly unleashed, blowing the scene away with sweeping harmonies, memorable hooks, raspy tone of vocalist Petri Eskelinen with a distinct, rough-toned timbre yet sincere delivery, and melancholic spirit, where multilayered guitar passages, restrained tempo shifts, and effectively developed choruses are subtly combined in a highly evocative way, not that far away from classic Katatonia - Finnish answer to that is nonetheless special, leaving a unique mark in evolution of ferocious yet depressive genre; recent Spanish three panel digisleeve edition comes exclusive liner notes
