LACUNA COIL

Release Year: 2002
Artist Origin: ITA
Style: melodic emotional expressive atmospheric metal

already on their debut full-length [1999] the Italian five-piece clearly defined unique musical direction and became one of the key initiators of gothic metal - nine compositions charm by emotional intensity, merging with melodic yet weighty and subtly arranged instrumental foundation, balancing between atmospheric metal, melancholic rock, and traditional heavy elements, where distinct highlight lies in the interplay between two vocalists, Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, whose dynamic contrast of feminine softness and masculine passion is enriched by harmonious nuances and carefully thought-out structure; next releases saw them refine an approach and expand stylistically, yet this vigorous start captivated with its raw energy and sounded like a breath of fresh air in heavy music scene back in a day; license Russian edition
