Style: catchy melodic dynamic death metal
one of the focal episodes of sweeping, highly expressive genre, historical longplay debut [1994] by one of the most significant entities of melodic death metal from Gothenburg charms with aggressive thrashy sound, heavily-distorted guitar harmonies, and Mikael Stanne's [Dark Tranquillity] raspy screams and shrieks, ending up in totally unforgettable ten track experience, brimming with dynamics and diversity, continually surprising with expressive tempo changes, complex riff variations, subtly integrated acoustic passages, and emotive folk motifs that add extra touches and distinctiveness to such a hard-hitting music; it is amusing that none of the musicians that recorded this opus are in the band any longer, so it truly belongs to another era; recent three panel digipak re-issue comes with three bonuses from rare first ever promo recording [1993]
