ever-growing audience of traditional folk pagan metal has accepted the Swiss phenomena with open arms since their start, perhaps due to that perfect union between melodic death metal and ancient instruments, perfectly incorporated into the picture, including flute, hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, and whistles, or rather the ability to blend musical reminiscences of the past with rebellious metal to produce one neat whirlwind of sounds; the sophomore twelve track epos [2008] must be heard to start believing this is truly unique experience with Celtic atmosphere all over its refined contents, marking the consolidation of their distinct identity; Slania stands out for its emotional intensity and authenticity, elevating Eluveitie to one of the most important acts of the genre that helped shape the sound of modern folk metal; ten year anniversary three panel digipak edition comes with updated cover image, acoustic version of Samon, interview with imaginary girl Slania, and unreleased demo versions of five album songs
