DARKTHRONE

Release Year: 2010
Artist Origin: NOR
Style: fundamental raw unholy black metal

significantly inspired and fueled by the glorious legacy of classic Celtic Frost recordings, purely fundamental, traditional, unholy, extreme and grim black metal opus [1995] sounds ultimately raw, spontaneous, straightforward and in a way poetic - pulling to the pits of the infernal madness, the fifth longplay of charismatic Scandinavian entity stripped to a duo also marks the end of certain early Darkthrone era, but remains the whole new spark for the entire Norsk ominous metal scene since its release due to an ultimately resisting nature and almost rehearsal-like and highly controversial nekro sound, as if accomplished in an underground garage, while lyrics to Quintessence were provided by Varg Vikernes [Burzum]; recent re-issue of legendary opus comes with a bonus disk, where Fenriz comments and reflects on the recording process, as well as makes insight on the time of the recording itself
