No doubt about it, Mortem's return was surprising indeed - the band had been inactive for almost three decades, and in its early stage it evolved into Arcturus, making the transformation seem logical at the time; be that as it may, here comes the debut longplay with three original line-up members and far more coordinated repertoire, where unfolds cold yet more distinctly accented strain of atmospheric black metal, filled with esoteric keyboard grandeur, trademark tremolo riffs and menacing vocals, while Hellhammer adds rhythmic complexity through his masterful drumming, at times recalling early works of Old Man's Child, filling the space with compelling gloom, strong riffs and carefully constructed compositions that maintain a balance between majesty and raw fury; British black 180g vinyl edition comes with a pro-printed lyric inner sleeve
