one way only to describe this historical full-length debut [1990] of extreme British metal three-piece - a pure kult: much like Obituary and Cannibal Corpse have been setting up a platform for straightforward chunky meat-grinder death metal in US of A, Cancer have been doing the same dirty job on this side of the Atlantic, using intense thrash rhythms, but building it up with death-spreading low end production, topped by full lungs roaring vocals of guitarist John Walker, yet regardless of such a savage and sick micro-climate, nine gory tracks on offer have gained hardly explainable consistency, first off due to the convincing choruses, and quite simple yet smart song structuring; recent British yellow vinyl edition comes with a remastered sound and pro-printed lyric inner sleeve
