constantly shape-shifting, in the mid-nineties Sentenced were at their very top, setting the trends in European metal scene - Amok was highly melodic but still heavy-weighted, much like its successor Love and Death EP, and then quite abruptly the most important line-up change has followed - Ville Laihiala has taken over the vocal duties, adopting a more ear-friendly singing, once again changing the overall sound, but it was also the last significant update in stylistic direction [1996], sticking to emotional heavy metal formulas with catchy, memorable choruses and melancholic vibe, partly reflecting on a gothic metal trend so widespread at that time; recent Dutch super jewel box re-issue comes with authentic design, and Vorph from Samael adds his additional guest vocals on couple of tracks
