after a tremendous success of Lingua Mortis project, it was quite obvious that German four-piece were very eager to continue [1998] in neoclassical way, combining fundamental traditional metal with grandiose symphonic orchestrations, just that they moved on with Christian Wolff, responsible for the horn and string sections instead of real orchestra, incorporating those epic episodes into the heavier territories, and unlike the typically poor results of other bands at that time, Rage were masters of such subtle, tasteful combinations, giving enough of space for bottom-heavy rhythm and all emotions screaming guitar riffs, fully justifying such a path chosen; recent German edition comes with a remastered sound, The Rolling Stones Paint It Black cover, and entire additional thirteen track disc, featuring rare live and demo recordings
