ambitions of northern entity have reached its highest point with the fourth full-length album [2005] where they have maximally drifted away from primordial black metal paradigm, roughly altering the production, which has got a darker industrialized edge, in a way messing things up with poor [programmed?] drum sound, but other than that eight inventive pieces are more than worth a try, melding rigid death/black metal with complex orchestrations and gothic overtones as much as thrashy riffing with progressive licks here and there, while trademark melodicity is also fully present - such an eclectic sonic mélange is certainly never boring and often downright thrilling, if you show patience with them; recent French digipak edition comes with new liner notes in twelve page booklet
