as expected, on not so strictly binding mini album Gaahl allows himself to be unpredictable to the breaking point, developing on cinematic, esoteric sonicscapes with a certain progressive and dark folk touch - it contains even less extremity where certain fragments are plain ritualistic ambient, backed up by convincing clean singing; three of the five tracks are re-arranged versions of songs that were written for the debut, but were eventually left off as not fully fitting its concept, and each composition has its special character, not necessarily connecting to the next, where The Dwell sounds the most ferocious and primarily black metal; first black vinyl pressing with a pro-printed inner sleeve featuring Espedal's art is limited to 2000 units
