Overview:
Tūkstantmetis is the debut full-length of OBTEST, one of the best pagan metal bands these days, and definitely the most well-known Lithuanian metal export. It was finished back in spring of 1997, and initially released on tape April 23rd of the same year, to mark one thousand years since the murder of the first christian missionary on the Baltic shore, that happened on 23rd of April 997.
Since limited tape and CD editions are turning into much sought-after rarities nowadays, and to commemorate ten years after its initial release, Ledo Takas re-release this kult pagan/black metal classic in a slipcase edition with an improved and enhanced booklet, as well as liner notes written by the band, revealing the true story behind album recordings.
CD comes in a slipcase envelope with extra design and sixteen pages booklet inside. Ten year' reissue is completed by a new OBTEST short and long sleeve shirt editions with Tūkstantmetis design. Picture vinyl version is also available.

The Whole Truth about Tūkstantmetis
…after brief experimenting with the song 997 we noticed that recording was improving rather well. This was the last stimulus to work seriously. I was refining compositions, Aras was writing lyrics, and – that's something incredible – some of them were written without even listening to the music, but fitted it perfectly. Method for the recordings was as follows: drums on the first track, rhythm guitar on the second, lead guitar or second rhythm guitar on the third, and bass on the fourth. As we had none of the professional equipment (not even a decent microphone), guitars were being recorded “straight” into the PC, using the “Rat” distortion, connected to self-made overdrive…
