Apparently, these Lithuanians see the world as a bit of a joke. Hence the album’s intro which is something of a carnival. Who could blame them?
The evil mongers stick to the Lithuanian formula of singing in the native tongue, but the album graciously provides the purchaser with English translations as well. The music is a mix of the old Canadian thrash metal of Razor and Sacrifice, early ‘90s UK death metal like Malediction and early Germanic thrash like Sodom and Destruction. Sure, the description just confused the hell out of Dimmu/Månegarm fans, which is where the group’s official biography really helps. Check out these choice phrases: “maniacal guitar riffs sound dead bitter and scornful” or “notably intensified vocals reach the places earlier dared not an inch” and “mankind is sold out as a whore.” Couldn’t have put it better myself! The vocals are snarly and evil, although on Šaltyje Akmens the band switches gear to hoarse yelling which highlights the Lithuanian words amidst a sea of acoustic guitars before the song really takes off. The songs are above average quality and power, but the group suffers due to repetition within songs. Riffs and passages are often used and re-used one each song giving the tracks an air of tedium. Admittedly, that is an odd statement given the group’s heavy bombardment. [60 / 100]

I Lituani Dissimulation tornano sul mercato discografico con il loro terzo disco intitolato Atiduokit Mirusius, una bordata di Black/Thrash Metal con venature moderne, per non parlare di qualche sprazzo piu Black n' Roll che non guasta mai. Tutto farebbe pensare alla classica band avvelenata con il resto del mondo (e almeno a livello musicale e cosi), pero c'e anche qualcos'altro che vogliono nascondere, e mi riferisco a delle photo session all'interno del libretto che fanno riflettere: come e possibile che degli assatanati blackster si facciano fotografare in mezzo al traffico, oppure sui mezzi pubblici, in compagnia di vecchietti intenti a fare altro, mentre questi giovanotti incazzati neri si mettono davanti la macchina fotografica con pose da trucidi irriducibili? E' difficile da spiegare una cosa simile, ma e anche vero che quando il disco parte e nell'intro fa capolino una melodia familiare... quella del circo! Molte cose iniziano ad avere una spiegazione logica. Nella loro proposta artistica c'e tanta cattiveria, filtrata pero anche in forti dosi di sarcasmo che creano una combinazione vincente. Per quanto riguarda invece l'aspetto prettamente musicale bisogna ammettere che questi Dissimulation ci sanno fare, perche sono padroni dei loro strumenti, e riescono a mettere su un album in cui senza grossi problemi convivono sfuriate Black Metal e tempi medi dal riff roccioso, che rimandano al Metal estremo melodico scandinavo. A dire il vero non mancano nemmeno i momenti in cui si lasciano andare senza controllo in ambienti meno nobili e grezzi come il Black n' Roll, una sorta di ultimi Darkthrone ma piu potenti e quadrati. Al terzo disco questi Dissimulation fanno ulteriormente centro, riconfermando quanto di buono hanno detto in passato. [7 / 10]

Black/Thrash Metal der bodenständigen Sorte gibt es auf "Atiduokit Mirusius" von DISSIMULATION zu hören. Der Vorgänger "Prakeikimas" ging mir noch ziemlich gut rein, was ich von der aktuellen Scheibe nur bedingt behaupten kann. Trotz vieler guter Momente, wie z.B. bei dem recht originell beginnenden, mit einem geil-fiesen Killer-Riff ausgestatteten "Saltyje akmens", sind die Songideen einfach zu beliebig und die Riffs manchmal so belanglos, so dass man sich das Gähnen manchmal einfach nicht verkneifen kann. Lediglich die zweite Hälfte von "Atiduokit Mirusius" kann überzeugen, weil die Band hier wieder ihre Stärken ausspielen kann. Das alles rettet "Atiduokit Mirusius" aber nicht mehr wirklich, denn dafür überwiegt leider zu sehr das Mittelmaß, was heutzutage einfach nicht mehr ausreicht. Schade, hier wäre eindeutig mehr drin gewesen. [8 / 15]

 

Ash, Kronos Mortus webzine [Hungary]:

This is the fifth album (beside „Juodo Mėnulio Pasveikinta” demo 1997, „Miglose” EP 2000, „Maras” CD 2002, „Prakeikimas” CD 2005) of this Lithuanian band - Nekrofagas (guitar), Stabmeldys (drums), Venomous (bass, vocals) – released last year. Mainly it carries the marks of thrash/death from the 80’s and ’90s, and some atmosphere of early black metal as well.
After the funny, circus-like introduction of „Bilietas I Cirka”, the guys crush appropriately, hard thrash rhythms destroy everything. Beside the appropriately dirty and past-evoking sound, the guys play with basic themes – nothing special, nothing new but everything sounds okay. The beginning of “Sliundra” goes to more technical fields, it’s based on broken rhythms and cool structures. Here, we also get a taste of the black metal vocals upon the tight riffs though it sounds a bit in the background. The crushing themes are embedded into each other very well, though there are some themes that are rather known. “Praregėjimo Diena” is an incarnated black metal damnation. Wrathful vocals are against the all-sweeping flood of instruments, striking forth unstoppably. There are some more technical insets in the track, though it’s true that of the verses that build up the structure most are good, and the dynamic balance is excellent.
“Šaltyje Akmens” is a stream destined to slow dying, which does try to weakly rally but it does not go. This duality, which describes the structure, is strange: at the very beginning the slow themes are very good but the bit faster isn’t that great. After those again a crushing, raspy verse comes which is okay at some points but it isn’t at certain points.
Next track is titled “Prasmekit”. The opening is also okay here, but the black metal theme after that is rather weak... then some good ideas pop up here and there. They should have worked a bit more on this...
“Jums” also starts promising, a bit modern metal sound is also present in here. Of course, the devastating riffs are here too. The thrash/black vocals, the tight tempos roll easily but there are some weaker points because sometimes they play a theme longer than necessary, without any variation, but they should vary things a bit because this way it sounds monotonous. Still, due to these things the song sounds good.
The determined madness of “As Grifas” strikes from the depths, breaking its chains and unleashing itself onto the world. Here, the characteristic trademarks of black/thrash metal blend well, and the vocals are also raspy. It’s a pity that there are few of these tracks with good ideas. This is the third track of the album with which the listener can be fully satisfied, everything’s okay here.
The closing tune is the title track. The track, operating mainly with black metal themes, sounds good, and there are only few ideas out of place which can be a result of not being thought out. The problem is not that the band tries to experiment and find an own sound but the fact that they do it with stereotyped themes though they are skilled musicians. The stuff is listenable, and there’ll surely people who’ll like it... but something is still missing. [7,5 / 10]

“Atiduokit Mirusius” is the third album from the Lithuanian group Dissimulation. The style of the group is a dark black/thrash metal.  Literally the title of this album could be translated by « Give Back The Dead » « Faites revenir les morts »… the lyrics are dark, full of negative symbolism, autodestruction visions, and of non signification of the Human Being, the importance of the consuming society, of the lost values …
Dissimulation has known to create a personal sound, with raw guitar lines, fast and powerful drums, and the dark and cold atmospheres of black metal and raspy vocals. The riffs are simple but efficient and powerful. Here all is well done, well at place, without any extravagance whatever on the musical or the vocals levels. The tracks are good with good instrumental passages like in « Sliundra ». I find the guitars sound particularly good and appropriated to the style.
The album has the benefit of a good production which gives back pretty well the sound of each instrument. The group shows a lot of creativity in its tracks and that gives a varied album all being always black/thrash metal, the difference is that we don’t have the feeling of being listening the same track several times …

Dass der Black Thrash Metal auch in Litauen eine Zuhause hat, stellen seit vielen Jahren die dortigen Untergrundgrössen Dissimulation unter Beweis. Angefüttert von der heimischen Plattenküche Ledo Takas schlug man bereits 2002 mit dem Debut "Maras" diesen holprigen Weg ein, der seine Fortsetzung drei Jahre später unter dem Namen "Prakeikimas" fand und Dissimulation allmählich auch ins Interesse der mitteleuropäischen Hörerschaft rücken konnte. Wiederum drei Jahre später beehren uns die drei Recken mit ihrem dritten Langspieler - "Atiduokit Mirusius". Und die Annahme, dass alle guten Dinge bekanntlich drei zu sein scheinen, findet in diesem Album gehobene Zustimmung.
Gleich ab dem ersten Ton gelingt es dem Songwriting das aufmerksame Interesse des lauschenden Ohres zu wecken. Behende jongliert man mit knackigen Thrash-Riffs und gediegenen aber dennoch drohenden Verschnaufpausen und versäumt es nicht, dieser Melange eine ausreichende Menge Melodic Black Metal beizubringen. Zwangsläufig drängt sich der Name Impaled Nazarene in mein Gedankenfeld, wenngleich die Litauer beim Versuch, die Finnen zu kopieren, wohl jämmerlich abschmieren und einen entfernten zweiten Rang belegen würden. Recht ähnlich und vielleicht auch den grossen Meistern angepasst verhält man sich jedenfalls beim Musizieren. Gitarre, Bass und Schlagzeug gehen konform und entfachen so manches Feuer dunkler musikalischer Energie, die heisere Schreistimme von Basser Venomous trägt ihr Scherflein dazu bei. Über knapp vierzig Minuten erstreckt sich der stählerne Zauber, ehe "Atiduokit Mirusius" vorerst wieder im Nichts verklingt - jedoch nicht, ohne einen Eindruck hinterlassen zu haben.
So darf man sicher sein, sich mit diesem Album ein echtes Glanzstück rhythmischer Handarbeit ins Zimmerlein zu holen, dem neben seinen kompositorischen Aufwendungen vorrangig die handfeste Produktion aus den Augen sticht, die transparenter nicht hätte ausfallen und vortrefflicher nicht hätte einschlagen können. Die Instrumente drücken, die Arrangements stimmen. Ein echter Genre-Meilenstein ist mir unter den acht enthaltenen Stücken zwar nicht aufgefallen, aber dies wäre eventuell auch zu viel verlangt gewesen.
"Atiduokit Mirusius" trägt in jedem Falle alles das in sich, was ein hochqualitatives Album braucht, um höheren Ansprüchen genüge tun zu können. Und sofern man kein Ebenbild von Impaled Nazarene erwartet, wird man auch nicht enttäuscht, sondern positiv überrascht.

Post von Ledo Takas im Fach bedeutet meist das man es mit litauischen Bands zu tun bekommt und mit qualitativ guten obendrein. DISSIMULATION war seither auch immer so ein Vertreter der Guten (natürlich nur im musikalischen Sinn). Ich fasse mich kurz – das neue Album der Litauer ist diesmal eine kleine Enttäuschung für mich geworden. Eine Abkehr von den Black Metal-Wurzeln war auch schon beim Vorgänger herauszuhören, und man ist diesmal noch weiter gegangen. Das wäre zwar für mich kein Problem, aber der Fluss leidet etwas auf dem neuen Werk. Wie gewohnt gibt es viele Thrash Einflüsse, doch nicht unbedingt solche die ich gerne höre, sondern mehr in die moderne Richtung. Da ich aber ein primitives Wesen bin gehen mir die acht Songs nicht so recht ins Blut über.  DISSIMULATION sind allerdings zu gute Musiker um richtig schlechte Songs zu schreiben. Die Stücke sind wieder gut und recht druckvoll produziert und werden technisch sehr versiert dargeboten. Die Mucke pendelt meist zwischen langsam und Midtempo und ich denke das jedes neue Album noch technischer und komplizierter ausfallen wird. Ich hoffe mal das diese Prognose nicht zutrifft – Hoffnung geben zum Beispiel der vierte Song „Saltyje Akmens“, der zu Beginn etwas nach den alten norwegischen Hades klingt und dann im Mittelteil in einen coolen, Alt-Emperor-mäßigen Gitarrenabschnitt übergeht. So etwas lässt einem das Herz höher schlagen, doch insgesamt kann mich „Atiduokit Mirusius“ nicht vom Hocker reißen. Anhänger der Band sollten trotzdem mal reinhören. Geschmäcker sind bekanntlich verschieden.

This to me would be what Wargasm sounded like if they played black metal. This band mix up the thrash metal and black metal rather nicely. The vocals are pure black metal style and aren't bad neither. The production is not over produced and the guitar sound brings back memories of some old 80's thrash bands. The band just ooze that old school sound and I love it. The band also mix up the speed and mid paced part to allow you to catch your breath ha ha. Good one here.

Lithuanian Black Thrash Metal that rekindles the raw rasping vocal bite and chopping guitar riffs of likewise dirty thrash trustees, Amok, Sabbat [Japan], The Battalion, etc. It is the ability to grab the attention of the ears that makes such a release tenable or just plain boring. This Lithuanian act have a fine grasp of Thrash compositional know how, they craft catchy ass kicking songs that blast past you like a buffalo with its balls on fire. You won't discover anything new, nor will this album change your life, but it has a certain charm so important to a genre that really perpetually treads water. Thrash is what it is. If you add keyboards, female vocals or any other diversion from the root form, it is no longer Thrash.
This particular genre does not have the flexibility of Black Metal, so its not easy to stand out amongst the familiar style attributed to the music’s generally one dimensional ethos. The lyrics are in Lithuanian but as they are spat from a boiling guttural bark, you’ll never know the difference. Atiduokit Mirusius, is the bands third album and they have been around since 1995, so it is no surprise the music is tighter than your average act and therefore has the sustainability factor throughout the albums duration. Solid tracks abound here, although not all as memorable as one would wish.

Lithuanian black metal circus music? Blimey. It's an interesting prospect but, as a long-term coulrophobe, one that comes with a certain level of clown-hating anxiety. A short, introductory blast of "Entrance Of The Gladiators" makes my palms sweat, but we quickly come to a ferocious roar and enter the far-more-reassuring territory of rock'n'roll devil music. Dissimulation play a brand of chunky black'n'roll that wouldn't be out of place on some of the later Satyricon releases, with a heady swagger and thumping riffs very much to the fore. Very fine riffs they are, too, with just the right amount of simplicity to make you raise your fist and bang your head. Some of the later tracks gain a handful of Slayerisms and up the thrash quotient to add a flick knife edginess to the album, but the heavy, easy riffs continue. There's nothing hugely innovative here, the saw-dust-and-popcorn gimmick is dropped like a hot rock, but the tracks are solid and you get the feeling that they'd shred in a live setting. [4 / 6]

Ich staune wirklich immer wieder, wo auf einmal all diese Bands aus dem ehemaligen Ostblock, die teilweise schon recht lange existieren, herkommen! Hierbei handelt es sich um ein bereits 1993 gegründetes Trio aus Litauen, das sich mit seinem kompletten Haupthaar (auch wenn bei einigen Mitgliedern nicht mehr allzu viel davon vorhanden ist…) rotzigem, staubtrockenem Black Metal verschrieben hat. DISSIMULATION klingen am Ehesten noch nach Satyricon ab „Volcano“-Zeiten, verzichten aber auf eine punkig-undergroundige Produktion der Marke Darkthrone, sondern orientieren sich auch in diesem Bereich an Satyr und Frost. „Atiduokit Mirusius“ (den Titel kann sich hierzulande sicher kaum eine Sau merken) ist insgesamt ein sehr hörenswertes bis starkes Stück Schwarzmetall geworden, das komplett in der Heimatsprache der Band gehalten ist (die englischen Übersetzungen findet man aber komfortablerweise im Booklet) und mit einer berühmten Zirkusmelodie als Intro beginnt, danach in Sachen Songwriting aber nicht über die gesamte Spielzeit zu 100% überzeugen kann. Die Jungs kommen trotz ihres aufs Nötigste reduzierten Sounds nicht immer auf den Punkt und verlieren sich mitunter in einigen langatmigen, leicht banalen Parts, die dem Album am Ende keine allzu prägnante Note aufdrücken. Wer aber spätere Satyricon, Darkthrone oder auch jüngere Ableger wie Khold oder Black Anvil zu seinen Favoriten zählt, sollte sich „Atiduokit Mirusius“ auf jeden Fall mal anhören, denn DISSIMULATION gehören zumindest für mich eindeutig zu den stärkeren Vertretern des „neuen Ostens“.

"Der litauische Schwarzmetallzirkus gastiert"
Unter Dissimulieren versteht der Psychiater gemeinhin „das absichtliche Verbergen vorhandener körperlicher oder psychischer Krankheitssymptome bei Patienten, die für gesund erklärt werden wollen“. Wieder was gelernt und gleich mal auf die litauischen Schwarzmetaller gleichen Namens angewandt, doch von psychischer Gesundheit scheinen DISSIMULATION eher weniger zu halten und kredenzen stattdessen eine Runde psychotisch-heftigen Black/Thrash Metals, der sich definitiv nicht gewaschen hat, so räudig-kraftvoll und ruppig kommt der Sound daher.
Nach dem Einmarsch der Artisten in die Manege des Black Metal-Zirkus zu zunächst versöhnlich stimmender Zirkusmusik stellen ein gellender Initialschrei und ruppig gallopierende Gitarren gleich mal überdeutlich klar, dass DISSIMULATION wenig Interesse daran haben, Gefangene zu machen, denn Sänger Venomous spuckt [ganz dem Künstlernamen gemäß] bei „Bilietas I Cirką/Ticket To The Circus“ Cronos-mäßig beinahe sichtbar Gift und Galle.
Interpretiert wird hierbei gänzlich auf Litauisch, das Booklet bietet aber dankenswerterweise auch die englischen Übersetzungen der Titel und Texte [„Atiduokit Mirusius“ bedeutet wörtlich übersetzt wohl soviel wie „Give Back The Dead“].
Insgesamt braut sich dieses Trio infernale aus Anyksciai, das bereits seit 1993 gemeinsam musiziert, ein höchst eigenständiges Süppchen aus den Basiszutaten reichlich Black/Thrash und etwas Death Metal, wobei als Geschmacksverstärker [bzw. im Kontext eher -zerstörer] u.a. Desaster, Venom, etwas Carpathian Forest oder Impaled Nazarene mitköcheln könnten.
Die Variation der Ingredienzen bei stets tiefschwarz-nihilistisch und v.a. glaubhaft gehaltener Grundstimmung sorgt für die nötige Kurzweil beim akustischen Verzehr bzw. dem Trommelfeuer aufs Trommelfell:
„Šliundra/Slut“ und „Praregėjimo Diena/The Day Of Afflatus“ wüten mit schön schartigen 80er-Thrash-Anleihen [alte Exodus/Dark Angel lassen grüßen] dahin und „Šaltyje Akmens/In The Cold Of The Stone“ beginnt mit sinistrem Akustik-Intro, bevor wieder Venomous' Cronos-Gedächtnis-Shouting und schwärzlich-räudiges Riffing alles in Grund und Boden schrotet.
Fies fräsendes Riffing, häufige Tempowechsel und Slayereske Parts bei „Aš Grifas/I Am A Vulture“ und dem Titeltrack „Atiduokit Mirusius/[Give] Back The Dead“ hinterlassen bleibenden Eindruck und verbrannte Erde.
Fühlt man sich eher der alten [Black-]Metal-Schule verhaftet und steht auf kantige, direkte, ruppige und dreckige Produktionen und Riffs, sollte ein Probehördurchgang dieser schwarzen Perle Osteuropas durchaus drin sein. [5 / 7]

Ca commence en fanfare avec une zique de cirque, on se demande ou on est, et pis l'autre vient te gueuler dans les oreilles secondés par une rythmique ultra couillue. Bon ca va, on s'est pas planté de skeud. Ce qui est amusant c'est que les premiers riffs vont irrésistiblement penser a ces enculés de LOITS, riff semi tragiques avec un chant lituanien dont les consonances ne manquent pas d'écorcher, a mon grand plaisir, mes petites oreilles. La comparaison s'arrete la, car apres c'est du gros black/thrash velu qui remporte la mise. Pas de ce black thrash moisi dont les norvégiens nous gavent les couilles ultra pourri et coupé au pseudo rock'n'roll ou au punk a deux balles. Les riffs sont gros, carrés, puissants aidés en cela par la production ultra puissante. Comme quoi, un gros son ca fait quand meme un plus non négligeable (mais ca ne masquera jamais la faiblesse de composition de beaucoup de groupes...). Ca bouge bien et les mecs atteignent le point parfait de fusion entre le black et le thrash, car on peut difficilement dire qu'a tel moment ca sonne black et a un autre moment qu'on a du thrash. Belle osmose donc qui a pour résultat un album qui s'enfile comme une vodka qu'on sort du freezer, ca passe nickel mais ca fait méchamment mal a la tronche au bout de quelques instants. Les titres de 4 minutes paraissent beaucoup plus compacts et on a a peine le temps de se demander ou on en est que c'est fini. Par contre par moment les riffs tournent trop longtemps sans variation, c'est sympa quand les riffs tuent, mais quand ils sont juste bons, on se demande s'il n'y a pas un bug dans le cd. L'album n'a pas de temps mort, ce qui est un bon point, et illuminera toutes vos soirées dégustation d'alcools frelatés. Le titre 4 propose un feeling légerement plus épique fortement bienvenu, bouffée d'air frais dans ce bloc (communiste?) black/thrash. J'étais resté sur Maras qui m'avait pas emballé les nougats, mais la, le groupe a mieux affirmé sa personnalité. C'est pas encore l'album du siecle, mais les progres sont patents, y'a plus qu'a attendre la suite. [7 / 10]

Just a few minutes ago I wrote a review for a Lithuanian band, claiming it was cool that a band from such a place was getting the word out on the scene. Well, it seems there are a whole bunch of Lithuanian bands (as one would expect), and Dissimulation is one more. Playing blackened thrash metal, the band certainly seems to have what it takes to make some ripples in the metal ocean. God, that was tacky.
Anyway, the album’s tracks differ a lot from one another, and that’s good. Some songs are more black metal, others are thrashier, some have a strong death metal influence. All those different atmospheres are very becoming, and made me enjoy the album a lot. Even though Dissimulation consists only of a trio, at least on the record I can’t say I miss anything. The guitars have the right amount of in-your-faceness, the bass gets a well-deserved spot, and the drums are pretty fucking solid. So, all in all, something that deservedly gets to be called power trio. And, along with some great riffs, you get cut-throat vocals, that range from pure screams to blackish rasps.
The album is short, though, clocking in at little less than 40 minutes, and that’s a shame, because the music here definitely got me thirsting for more. I sure hope Dissimulation won’t take another three years to release another album, as has been the case between previous releases.

Dissimulation? What a strange name... well, they seem to be a well stablished band in their country, Lithuania. If a label such as Ledo Takas is behind these guys, one should take them seriously! The beginning of the album mocks us with a circus melody, and then the metallic fury comes to the fore. Sometimes thrash, others black; seldom deathsters, when not simply a raid into thrash-black landscapes, the metal performed by this band is nothing but pounding and powerful, aggressive as hell. Mid tempos are quite comfy to these guys though fast parts aren't forgotten in these tracks. Technical extravaganzas are not in their agenda either, this is rather straight music to the core of darkness. However, there are no traces of clumsy abilities or awkward structures; the music is endowed with great dynamics and variety and that fact makes the listening enjoyable. I evoke some blinks to bands as Tormentor (for example in the snare drum rolls in “Šliundra”) and plenty of thrash and speed metal influences, being Sodom a prominent name in this issue. The production has been solid and consistent; put the blame on Phoenix Riga and Gints Lundbergs as the man behind the mixing table, both names associated with the Latvian band Skyforger with worthy results, like this case. Definitely a good dose of extreme metal from Lithuania able to please a wide range of fans. [7 / 10]

Lately the biggest contribution the black scene has given to metal music is not tied to the genre in itself, but to the way it rediscovers the tradition.
Just think of heavy metal, that owes much more to the creativity and personality of the Viking/pagan acts than to the defender or power metal scene. The same can be said for thrash: there are no bands who have been more clever than the black metal ones in playing the classic thrash scores with such a freshness and spontaneousness. We've seen it with Aura Noir, with Grimness and also with Dissimulation.
Of Lithuanian origins, Dissimulation can be described both as a primal black metal band or as an extreme thrash group, since they refer to all those bands who (especially the German ones, see their past tribute to Kreator) though playing thrash metal formally, were actually dedicated to a primal form of death/black.
If their previous albums were still tied to the properly black metal of the second wave (that of DarkThrone and Immortal), with "Atiduokit Mirusius" they seem definitely in love with the eighties (the German scene or also the Canadian one), with a huge difference: while back then the bands were playing the game of being as fast and aggressive as possible, also paying the toll of a very low technique, Dissimulation prefer a more reasoning approach, that can't be considered "technical" but which is very studied and even refined, at times.
In the case you haven't understood it yet, Dissimulation, in their little spot, are a big band. [7,5 / 10]

 

Goran, Corazine website [Belgium]:

Atiduokit Mirusius is the third full-length for the Lithuanian Dissimulation. This eight-track epos carries strong old-school vibes, and cuts like a double-edged sword. One edge is reminiscent of cold, mid-tempo black metal. The other draws on the fundamentals of raw thrash. Dissimulation toys around with these basics and produced a coherent set of compositions. Coherent, but with ups and downs.
In their up-tempo passages, the band shows it can strike both compelling and forceful. In stark contrast with this stand the generic, spineless riffs that merely fill the songs. Luckily, there aren't too many of these - and perhaps it's just me not having enough old-school spirit to appreciate similar tunes.
I still have Dissimulation's previous album somewhere, and if anything, the band took a step forward with this release. The album - solidly composed and produced - isn't the next big thing, of course, but does not disappoint in any way, either. Good underground music, that will mainly appeal to fans of black metal, and the old school approach.

A tre anni di distanza dal bel "Prakeikimas", tornano i lituani Dissimulation con un nuovo full-length: "Atiduokit Mirusius". Si tratta del loro terzo album, pubblicato dalla loro partner di sempre, l'etichetta Ledo Takas. Lascio perdere le notizie biografiche del gruppo, gia contenute nella recensioni di "Prakeikimas" presente in archivio, e passo subito a descrivere il loro nuovo lavoro.
"Atiduokit Mirusius" e contenuto in una confezione professionale, dai colori molto scuri. La copertina riproduce il celebre quadro di Francis Bacon "Studio Del Ritratto di Papa Innocenzo X di Velazquez". Il libretto, di sedici pagine, contiene tutti i testi stampati bianco su nero, e corredati da un buon numero di croci rovesciate. Ci sono inoltre le foto dei musicisti: il chitarrista Nekrofagas ed il batterista Stabmeldys sono stati fotografati nella loro citta, durante la vita di tutti i giorni, mentre il cantante e bassista Venomous e ritratto in azione sul palco.
Dato che squadra che vince non si tocca, "Atiduokit Mirusius" e stato registrato allo studio Phoenix come l'album precedente: ad occuparsi della registrazione, il solito Gints Lundbergs. Le registrazioni sono durate solo dieci giorni.
"Bilietas Į Cirką" da il via all'esibizione, introdotta dalle note dell' "Entrata Dei Gladiatori" di Julius Fučik: l'originale della piu classica marcia circense. D'altro canto, la traduzione del titolo e "Il Biglietto Del Circo". L'urlo di Venomous fa entrare la canzone nel suo vivo. Grazie alla stupenda qualita di registrazione, il suono risulta nitido e potente. L'oscurita del suono dei Dissimulation non interferisce sulla grinta esecutiva, e sul mordente dei riff snocciolati. Non si tratta di un brano veloce, e l'esecuzione non e certo complessa. Il trio punta tutto sull'impatto, e sulle suggestioni di un sound cosa cupo. Lo stile utilizzato e sempre un black spurio, sulla scia della seconda meta della carriera dei DarkThrone. D'altro canto, lo stesso gruppo lituano ha sempre dichiarato di suonare black/thrash. E il thrash al quale fa riferimento e quello cadenzato e cupo dei Celtic Frost, filtrato attraverso le riproposizioni d tante band successive.
"Šliundra" e aperta da una bella sezione strumentale, nella quale il gruppo mette in evidenza tutta la sua duttilita ritmica. La canzone parte poi in maniera piuttosto decisa e violenta, con l'elemento thrash che diventa preponderante. La canzone non segue un ordine ben preciso di strofe e ritornelli: ad una sezione cantata segue una seconda parte strumentale, e via via che la canzone procede la musica si fa sempre piu violenta. Anzi, alcuni passaggi strumentali non sono molto lontani dal death metal. La seconda traccia di questo CD e decisamente piu tecnica dell'opener.
"Praregėjimo Diena" e un attacco thrash marcio e distruttivo. Sa, si segnalano dei rallentamenti del ritmo, ma la struttura non e arzigogolata e folle come nella canzone precedente. La traccia e in possesso di un discreto tiro, e la successione dei vari passaggi e vivace. I Dissimulation dimostrano, in questo nuovo lavoro, di non aver perduto il gusto per le trovate particolari, e di aver incrementato il loro tasso tecnico, gia non trascurabile in precedenza. "Praregėjimo Diena" garantisce all'ascoltatore una buona dose di adrenalina, ed e difficile non seguire il ritmo col piede o con la testa.
Ho scritto del gusto per le trovate particolari. Infatti i Dissimulation non e che propongano una musica realmente originale. Altri gruppi suonano come loro. Pero, il trio prova sempre a metterci quel pizzico di creativita in piu, in qualunque occasione. E' possibile quindi che, dopo una serie di riff che sanno di gia sentito, i musicisti azzecchino un passaggio davvero geniale. Oppure rimescolino le carte in maniera decisa, come nella prima parte lenta e possente di "Šaltyje Akmens". Bisogna aspettare attorno ai due minuti prima che il ritmo acceleri, riportando la musica su coordinate care a DarkThrone e Carpathian Forest. Ho citato queste due band, ma attenzione, i Dissimulation non suonano affatto come un gruppo norvegese. I suoni sono sempre caldi, ricchi e comunque e anche una questione di stile. I lituani non hanno paura di rendere il loro stile un ibrido bello e buono. "Šaltyje Akmens" e una piacevolissima canzone che, soprattutto in occasione dei passaggi strumentali, ci dimostra quanto sia creativa questa band.
Testarda ed insistente, "Prasmekit", si mantiene immutata per tutta la sua durata una consistente sensazione di oppressione. Sara probabilmente l'insistenza dei musicisti sulle medesime note, oppure il ritmo strisciante ma costante. Ogni slancio sembra essere soffocato dall'avanzare inesorabile delle note, dei riff. I vocalizzi teatrali di Venomous fanno il resto. In questa canzone, i Dissimulation sembrano guardare anche ai percorsi musicali seguiti dagli Immortal nella seconda parte della loro carriera, o le ultime derive dei Satyricon. Mescolato come al solito per un certo sguardo retro nei confronti del thrash piu oscuro degli anni '80.
Arrembante e cattiva, "Jums", ci dimostra ancora quanto sia aggressiva e decisa questa band. Il black/thrash dei lituani riesce a creare, in questo caso, sensazioni davvero sgradevoli, ed ogni nota e pregna di minaccia. E, come al solito, il trio non si limita a vivacchiare su poche idee, ma dopo aver ripetuto per un po' di volte la medesima serie di riff, ecco che inserisce una serie di tocchi di genio che riescono a distinguerli dalla massa. L'ascolto di una canzone dei Dissimulation e sempre stuzzicante. L'interesse non si esaurisce una volta che ci si e abituati all'impatto: anche studiare le raffinatezze dell'arrangiamento e una cosa che prende il suo tempo, e che regala grandi soddisfazioni.
Le battute iniziali di "Aš Grifas" sono abbastanza regolari, e la velocita non e eccessiva. Ma una serie di riff marci, ai limiti del death, ci riporta sui territori tanto cari ai Dissimulation. Il cantante digrigna la sua rabbia dietro al microfono, strilla, fa la voce grossa, ed il suono della lingua lituana ha il suo fascino. Il dinamismo ritmico, punto di forza dei Dissimulation, permette alla band di dar vita a canzoni trascinanti senza dover, proprio per questo, ingegnarsi eccessivamente sulla complessita dei riff. In tal senso, la loro proposta musicale e molto moderna. Non si puo pero certo parlare di metal per tutti. I riff precisi ed essenziali vanno diritti al sodo, ma con questa band le sorprese sono sempre dietro l'angolo. Non ci si puo quindi rilassare, e dare per scontato un passaggio e un errore gravissimo. Perché il trio sta fermo proprio su quella linea immaginaria che separa un gruppo come tanti da un gruppo in grado di spiccare il volo. Sembra che i lituani abbiano paura di fare quel passetto in piu che potrebbe renderli grandissimi.
A chiudere il CD, la traccia che da il titolo all'album. Grande riffing, suoni pieni e ricchi, creativita ritmica, passione e grinta: cosa si puo desiderare di piu? Nel loro genere, i Dissimulation sono una forza. E l'ottima qualita di registrazione mette in evidenza la bravura del gruppo, professionale e competente. Oddio, magari nel corso del CD qualche difettuccio di esecuzione salta all'orecchio, ma la qualita e talmente elevata che la cosa non si rivela cosa decisiva. E' ravvisabile qualche eco degli Slayer, e la canzone si rivela piu di una volta discretamente catchy, per quanto questo termine possa calzare per la musica dei Dissimulation.
Il nuovo disco dei Dissimulation non fa gridare al miracolo, ma e senza dubbio un'uscita interessante e dotata di un suo carattere particolare. Nonostante quanto reciti il foglietto promozionale, non mi sembra che "Atiduokit Mirusius" sia decisamente superiore a "Prakeikimas". Sono diversi, questo sa. Ed il gruppo e migliorato. Ma il nuovo album non surclassa quello precedente. A parer mio si equivalgono. E, alla fin fine, anche il giudizio finale nei confronti dei Dissimulation non puo che rimanere immutato. Il gruppo ha grandi potenzialita, ma osa ancora troppo poco. Come ho scritto prima, compie sempre dei passi timidi verso direzioni nuove e piu gratificanti, ma spesso si fa prendere dalla paura e torna su territori piu tranquilli. Ecco che quindi le intuizioni geniali lasciano il posto a passaggi buoni, ma non particolarmente personali. I Dissimulation hanno abbastanza intelligenza da non scegliere sempre e solo le soluzioni piu facili, pero danno l'impressione di poter dare molto, molto di piu. Percio, assegno a "Atiduokit Mirusius" lo stesso voto dell'album precedente. Ma e comunque un disco consigliato, anche perché la Ledo Takas lo vende a soli 6 euro (spese di spedizione escluse, credo) e - se non si tratta di un errore di stampa - a questo prezzo il disco sarebbe da comprare non una, ma dieci volte. Perché mediamente in giro si trovano prodotti meno stimolanti, ed a prezzi ben piu alti. E poi lo sapete che la Ledo Takas difficilmente sbaglia un colpo. [7,5 / 10]

The third strike of this Lithuanian unholy trio was expected by yours truly with a lot of expectation. DISSIMULATION was for me one great discovery and a fresh breath of air in this otherwise stagnant scene. They evolved from a more primitive blackened Metal attack in their debut "Maras" to a great oldschool Black / Thrash attack in "Prakeikimas". The material contained in their previous album was of such quality and enjoyable more than enough to make me look forward to this new release. So, was it worth the wait? Well, the band got tighter, even showing a somewhat more technical, or should I say more complex approach at their style. A style that has changed little from the last album, of oldschool Black / Thrash Metal. The main references are still heavy on Slayer and Celtic Frost but this time I can also hear some more weird arrangements referring to bands like Voivod or Coroner. Sometimes they even remind me in a loose way to Master’s Hammer. They still have a heavy and pounding guitar sound, with a great drum performance and a powerful bass attack. The hateful vocals are still there, which are also a highlight of the band as Venomous is an amazing vocalist who uses a wide range of screams, still using their native language in their lyrics, which gives them a more "exotic" touch. Gone are the somewhat annoying intros from their former album. But I also noticed that also they have left out many fast parts, and they usually find themselves playing at mid-tempo, and they actually do sound very comfortable doing so, yet never losing any sign of aggression. They are wise enough to use some speed with wisdom as proven in songs like 'Sliundra'. They also have mastered the art of creating massive riffs, like the beginning of the song 'Jums' that can only be called as monstrous and majestic at the same time. But this song, as most of the eight compositions included here, has many rhythm changes. And that is basically the difference between this one and their former one. While their previous album was more straightforward, this one is more elaborated, and that will take some time to digest. The first time I went through this one, I was a bit skeptical. Many songs sounded way too complex. It was not that interesting at the first time. But then again, I had those riffs hidden in my head and exploding soon out of nowhere. I also sense, and it becomes more present that their goal is actually more in the way Slayer did in albums like "South Of Heaven" and "Seasons In The Abyss" than anything else. Yes, DISSIMULATION has now decided to experiment, still keeping it true to its roots. At the end, and after more than just one listening, the real power of this album opens up. Sometimes the music is just hypnotic, as the song that gives title to the album reveals. In the end, we have a fantastic new record by one band which is not afraid to experiment within the boundaries of extreme Metal, and turns again my faith in the underground that has many hidden jewels in the strangest places upon earth. I remind you this is not an easy experience at first, but it grows like a soul-devouring demon given the right time. No fan of Black Metal, evil Thrash or Death Metal has to let this one go by. Yes, it is quite technical, it has some very accomplished musicians, and yes they do evil music. Not only primitive recordings and performances are the only way to invoke thy dark one. It can be done with finesse as these elegant devil worshippers do show us. The only thing that is not exactly matching the sheer quality of this one is the simple cover art, but then again, how wrong can an inverted cross be?

Na ką, matyt, be manęs niekas nesiruošia rašyti apie šį albumą. Nepribrendo?
Albumo pasirodymo sąrėmiai, pripažinkim, buvo bent jau truputį pagardinti ažiotažu, o, kad ir neilgas (ir, matyt, netyčinis), albumo išleidimo atidėjimas provakarietiškai pakurstė dar bent keletą... ai, nesvarbu... Bet ar tai reiškė, kad albumas bus geras? Nebūtinai! Apie Silhouette diską niekas nekalbėjo (o jei ir kalbėjo, tai nelaukė), o pastarasis pavyko visaaaai neblogas.
Pradėkim nuo malonių smulkmenų. Taip, kalbu apie viršelį. RT viršelį. Genialu, kas paprasta. Kaip jūs norit taip, bet tas apverstas kryžius atrodo velniškai gerai. Trve, kaip sakoma.
Nepasakosiu čia apie jokius rifus, nei bangas, nei cunamius, nes mūsų mokykloj muzikos pamokose niekas tokių dalykų nemokė. Buvo akordai, taktai, dar kažkas ten... Nebuvo nei growlo, nei skrymo... Tik bosai, altai ir sopranai... ai, suku į šoną.
Kad DISSIMULATION yra blackas, manau, niekas nesiginčys. O tas toks oficialus „thrash“ pridėjimas mane neseksualiai sujaudino. Bet, paklausius albumo, nėra ko ginčytis. Ir žinot, ką man priminė? Ogi METALLICA! Rimtai. Ir tegul čia turi įtakos tai, kad kaip tik tuo pačiu metu klausiau ir „Death Magnetic“.
Gerumai. Puikus viršelis, puikus albumo pavadinimas, „jėgova“ muzika, kieta, pikta, kalanti ir kartais tave ištaškanti, sodriai pagardinta būgnais, neblogas balsas, nuostabus „Bilieto į cirką" intro (geriausias man gabalas), lietuviški visų dainų pavadinimai.
Blogumai. Per daug socialūs tekstai. Čia aš visai subjektyvus, bet man vienintelis socializmas juodmetalyje yra antikrikščioniškumas. Na, ir galėtų būti labiau surimuoti. O to paties žodžio / frazės kartojimas ne visada sudaro priedainį.
Albumas pasirodė per trumpas, o tatai reikštų, kad jis tikrai ne pats blogiausias. Gerai vienas rusas pasakė, kad juos turėtų išgirsti visi. O kaipgi kitaip, kai turim geriausią black thrasho grupę pasaulyje?
Nors tai neturėjo būti liaupsinanti recenzija, mažo balo duoti tiesiog negaliu. Tuo labiau, kad, paminėsiu, albumas man patiko kažkodėl labiau už „Prakeikimą“.

Formed already in 1993, this Lithuanian band have just released their third full length album. They have definitely honed their dark art during the years. Their previous album, 'Prakeikimas' from 2005 was the first ever injection of Dissimulation for me and still to date I haven't heard the debut. The previous one was a grower, as I stated in its review, and also gave it a bit too low a score. But what's done is done... Anyways, 'Prakeikimas' showed a band with very characteristic output, and 'Atiduokit Mirusius' (translates to "give back the dead") does not tarnish that observation. Not a single bit.
The biggest characteristic is obviously the Lithuanian language, with which every song is performed. It sounds scoundrelly, very fluidy. Gladly all the lyrics are printed in English, too. The severe, bawling vocals are great and with quite a bit of variety. Musicwise, this album is a bit more light-hearted than pretty dark 'Prakeikimas'. It had its funny bits, and I mean "funny" in a positive way. Here, the band have once again brewed very own kind of metal soup. The band have two main ingredients, which are black'n'roll, and thrash metal. 'Bilietas į Cirką' starts with the famous circus theme, but soon explodes into hellishly energetic speed'n'thrashing! Talk about catchy... But the song ain't straight, that's for sure. 'Šliundra' enters darker territory with its slithering riffs and the trend continues on 'Praregėjimo Diena', but sadly the songs are straighter when compared to the opener. The first riff of 'Šaltyje Akmens' sounds like some Wild West theme, believe me, but the black elements take its place soon. 'Prasmekit' is a welcome return to twisted songcraft. 'Jums' is packed with volatile energy, well, for the first 30 or so seconds, before becoming a real mosh-pit song. 'Aš Grifas' and 'Atiduokit Mirusius' end the album in a darker note. Dissimulation stand inside the pentagram of Celtic Frost (old), Metallica (1980's), Voivod (older), Satyricon (modern) and German thrash metal. And mind you, without "the money" factor. It's pure metal!
The sound is very organic and in-your-face. It is enjoyable to hear the instruments and the way they are played. Inverted cross on the slipcase is simple, but striking enough effect. The actual cover artwork is generally rather bland, but the booklet and the case contain some good photography. As mentioned before, it is good to have the English translations for the lyrics.
'Atiduokit Mirusius' is both tasty and frustrating. It's packed with explosive energy, it is jaggedly and detailedly performed, it's got some great metal, plus Dissimulation simply sound intriguingly original. On the other hand, some of the music drags a bit, and it is easy to lose preoccupation at times. Still, merits excel demerits. If you salivate for some underground metal, you could do so much worse. En voila encore un combo avec un nom a coucher dehors… Mais, a sa décharge, ce groupe n’est pas mauvais du tout et réalise de bonnes prestations depuis son existence datée de 1993 auxquelles il faut accorder un certain crédit. Les Lituaniens de DISSIMULATION viennent défendre leur troisieme album de Black Thrash psychotique au mystérieux titre Atiduokit Mirusius. Fideles a leur label de toujours Ledo Takas, le Frontiers Records local en plus sérieux et moins tricheur sur son catalogue, le trio constitué de Venomous (basse/voix), de Nekrofagas (guitares) et de Stabmeldys (batterie) imprime un esprit résolument old-school sur cette galette enregistrée au Phoenix studio (Skyforger, Obtest). Faisant suite a deux opus aux qualités avérées et reconnaissables, DISSIMULATION passera-t-il la cinquieme pour nous faire définitivement passer la ligne d’arrivée ?
Arborant une ambiance plus Thrash que ces prédécesseurs opus Maras et Prakeikimas, le trio lituanien se tourne de maniere chthonienne vers un Black Thrash reche et aux rythmiques Thrashy vieillottes. Non que cela soit dépassé, au contraire, DISSIMULATION jouant au contraire la carte du old-school pour produire des compositions de qualités pouvant a la fois plaire aux aficionados se réclamant de Satyricon, de Darkthrone, de Kreator ou de Destruction. Continuant toujours a chanter fierement dans sa langue maternelle, Venomous imprime sa rage sur cette galette comprenant huit pistes pour une durée de quarante minutes. Les Lituaniens taillent le lard de facon simpliste et tracent droit devant, sans perte de temps.
En guise d’ouverture, le combo balte emploie comme introduction a son titre «Bilietas i Cirka» le theme de L’entrée des Gladiateurs emprunté au compositeur Tcheque Julius Fucik. Une entrée en matiere qui s’imbrique bien dans l’univers de DISSIMULATION qui enchaine avec ce qu’ils savent faire de mieux : du Black Thrash raboteux et blafard. Grace a une production tout ce qu’il y a de plus honnete, le trio parvient a maintenir notre attention alerte. Les huit titres sonnent terriblement efficaces, directs et sans fioritures.
Si on conviendra qu’il ne s’agit pas de l’album de l’année, DISSIMULATION signe avec ce Atiduokit Mirusius un album studio plus que correct. Bien en place, les trois musiciens distillent une bonne recette de Black revancharde avec en prime un chant en lituanien qui confere aux dits morceaux une aura barbare! On pensera notamment aux morceaux tels que «Jums» ou «As Grifas», exemple typique de Black Thrash a la Lituanienne, une évolution qui leur va bien et qui montre les efforts fait par le groupe depuis trois ans. Une amélioration qualitative qu’il faut leur reconnaitre. Un groupe qui mérite que l’on s’intéresse a sa discographie. Sans etre des foudres de guerre, ces types-la font leur boulot de maniere laborieuse et concentrée. [3,5 / 5]

 

Lord Erra, Infernal War fanzine [Switzerland]:

Als erstes musste ich beim Anhören dieser CD lachen - nicht etwa weil die Musik so schlecht ist, sondern aufgrund der Zirkusmusik, die einem als Intro entgegenschallt. Ein Schrei und dann sind DISSIMULATION da, hell yeah. Vor allem etwas ist diese Musik: thrashig. Und das macht den Charme aus. Das ist die Art Metal, die nicht klagt und trauert, das ist Rock'n'Roll und gut so. Ihr wisst schon, Solos, dicke Riffs, und eben das, wo man traditionell gesagt headbangen soll. Es gibt auch Teile auf der Platte, die live sicher gut funktionieren, aber aufgenommen schnell vergessen sind. Aggressiv, Fies, Brutal, Roh. Gutes Ding! Die Band gibt es übrigens schon seit zehn Jahren und „Atiduokit Mirusius“ spielt satte 40 Minuten. Abwechslung fehlt dabei auch nicht: wo einige Songs eher im Thrash Black Metal gehalten sind, könnte man andere Tracks eher als Death Metal einordnen. Und Breaks gibt es viele, das macht es aus. Ein richtig gutes Album um sich einfach wieder einmal gehen zu lassen. [8,5 / 10]

Drei Jahre hat es gedauert, bis das litauische Black Thrash-Kommando Dissimulation mit ihrem Drittwerk Atiduokit Mirusius ums Eck biegt, drei Jahre, in denen es eher still war um die Band. Deshalb war ich auch sehr gespannt, wie sich das Trio heutzutage zeigt und ich bin dann doch ein wenig enttäuscht.
An der grundsätzlichen Ausrichtung hat sich nicht viel geändert, Dissimulation spielen nach wie vor eine räudige und nihilistische Mischung aus old-school Black und Thrash Metal wie auch schon auf dem Vorgänger Prakeikimas. Allerdings war der Vorgänger irgendwie zündender und spritziger als das neue Werk. Das liegt vielleicht daran, dass viele Riffs hier nicht so zwingend sind und die Wiederholrate einiger Songteile zu hoch ist. Dadurch kommt eine gewisse Monotonie auf, die zum Ende der Scheibe hin immer mehr zunimmt.
Ansonsten ist im Hause Dissimulation alles beim Alten geblieben, kreischender Gesang, old-school as fuck was die Songs betrifft und auch bei der Produktion geht man keine Kompromisse ein und setzt auf altertümlichen Sound. Dissimulation mix glimpses of Death, Black & Thrash into mid-paced to fast, mediocre, overly poppish and bland metal. Say what?
Frankly, I can't be bothered to give more of an introduction for this band, as I'm in general not a fan of wasted energy and effort. Instead, I'll point this very useful link out to you, if you really want to learn more about these bland Black/Thrashers.
You know, don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem with Black Thrash. Quite the opposite actually, the genre can create a dark rage that has few matches. When done right, obviously. But Dissimulation doesn't do it right. Hell, at times they sound like they don't even care themselves. The title track, for example "Atiduokit Mirusius" starts off reasonably, but halfway it sinks deep into a swamp of lethargy. Add that particular track to the overkill of filler-riff and wholly un-exciting song writing ideas and it's as if the band doesn't even want us to thrash our heads. I'm actually quite offended that they are trying to shove their boring drivel down my throat.
And you may know how to handle your guitar, but once it results in angry reviewers, you're pretty much screwed. But there's a reason for my anger, and that is this piece of mediocrity. It doesn't spark, it doesn't excite, it's just there. Predictability and the lack of originality kill this album. Check a sample if you don't believe me, but don't bother me whining about your time lost. [5 / 10]

Hoppla! Die Black Metaller DISSIMULATION fahren da ein Brett auf, das auch mir als dem Black Metal eher weniger zugeneigten Hörer durchaus gefällt. Die Litauer spielen einen Mix aus Black und Thrash Metal, was die Sache schon wieder interessanter macht. Böse, aggressiv und über weite Strecken psychotisch kommen die Songs daher und werden technisch sauber und versiert sowie fett produziert in Szene gesetzt. Einzig nach drei oder vier Songs beginnt das Ganze leicht langweilig zu werden, denn die Songs ähneln sich doch ein wenig, sieht man mal vom an VENOM erinnernden "Saltyje Akmens" ab. Die Lyrics sind zudem auf Litauisch gehalten, was jedoch erstmal genrebedingt kaum auffällt. Die Produktion ist sehr anständig und tönt druckvoll aus den Boxen, was ja heutzutage leider immer noch keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist. Das energische und brutale "Jums" sei hier als der am meisten Sinn machende Anspieltipp genannt.
Etwas anderes neben der Sprache ist jedoch auch seltsam: Der praktisch jungfräuliche Zustand der MySpace-Präsenz verheißt zwar selten Gutes, aber für eine Band, die schon Jahre im Geschäft ist und zudem scheinbar keine (englischsprachige) Homepage zu haben scheint, ist das schon ungewöhnlich.
Die Wertung ist aufgrund des Umstandes, dass es sich nicht wirklich um meine bevorzugte Musik handelt, mit Vorsicht zu geniessen, aber im Grunde kann es sich nicht um ein schlechtes Album handeln, wenn sogar ein Hardrock/Heavy Metal-Freak durchaus positive Seiten erkennen kann, oder? Freunde von gemäßigtem Black Metal mit Elementen von klassischem Thrash und Death Metal sollten ruhig mal ein Ohr riskieren und den krachenden Riffs oder den brutalen, aber variablen Arrangements eine Chance geben. Und dann ist da ja auch noch der Exoten-Bonus... [6 / 10]

Eine gehörige Bank, die die Litauer einem da an den Schädel zimmern, ordentlich gemachter Black Thrash Metal mit breiter Brust und eindeutigem Spaß-Faktor. Partytauglich, stellenweise glatt punkig, schmutzig und noch räudig, meinetwegen auch teuflisch genug für Demagogen.„Atiduokit Mirusius“ dürfte nach Paretoregel begeistern, der „litauische Hunger“ erinnert von der Grundstruktur her entfernt an Venom, gesanglich mit der Kompassnadel gen Black League, genau richtig um sarkastische Botschaften zu transportieren. Die Mischung ist heavy und gefällt mit ihrem Sinn für Brutalität wie ein Kampfpanzer im Feierabendstau: Die ungezügelte Brachialität. Dennoch wird hier nicht wild ´drauf los gezimmert, die Jungs sprühen auch mit vergleichsweise verhalten und dezent verwobenen Melodien. Nun ist „Atiduokit Mirusius“ bereits die dritte Scheibe des Trios und lässt einiges an Erfahrung durchblitzen. Durch die offensichtliche musikalische Eigenständigkeit der Sache entfallen im Grunde genommen sämtliche engeren Vergleiche mit anderen Bands des Genres, und hinter allem, was sich da tummelt brauchen sich Dissisimulation nicht zu verstecken. Positiv fällt auch die Produktion von Phoenix unter der Knute von Gints Lundbergs auf. Thematisch verzettelt man sich schon ein wenig, auch die englische Übersetzung der Texte verstrickt sich in Metaphern, das Cover und Artwork, obwohl auf ihre Weise stylisch, wollen irgendwie nicht passen, denn während sich das Ganze laut offizieller Seite gegen die Konsumkultur und alles, was damit zusammenhängen könnte, richtet, fällt einem andererseits so etwas wie der okkulte Einschlag auf die Füße, so auch der Titel, der soviel bedeutet wie „Geb(t) die Toten zurück“. Wie auch immer, am Ende steht eine etwas Testosteron-behaftete aber dabei coole Scheibe. [8 / 10]

Finally some more pretty cool Black/Thrash from Lithuania's Dissimulation. Compared its predecessor, this album packs more punch thanks to a slightly better production - everything is clearer and simply comes out sounding more "powerful". Atiduokit Mirusius is a bit more difficult to throw directly into the Black/Thrash category, since some songs really sound like Thrash and some purely and simply Black (early 90s raw and dirty style), as opposed to a mix of the two; but overall, these is still a Black/Thrash affair. In general the band stuck to its guns, simply introducing a few twists - a slight "black'n'roll" vibe can be heard here and there, giving this one an edge in terms of catchiness over the previous album. There's even some very minor flirt with groovy parts, although nothing predominant enough to turn off those who can't stand that sound.
Catchiness and "groove" aside, these guys aren't into gentle pop music - the album is pretty dark and sometimes "violent", thanks to a lot of pounding drums, abrasive and heavy guitar work (including a few flirts toward Death Metal, but not quite getting there), and some hate-filled vocals that can compete with the best in terms of harsh Black/Thrash vocals (the songs are sung in Lithuanian, however the booklet includes the English translation.) Not quite in the big leagues of the genre, but above average. [4 / 5]

Décidemment, le label lithuanien Ledo Takas est en pleine bourre en ce moment puisqu' apres la sortie du premier album du one man band Luctus, il nous présente maintenant le troisieme effort de Dissimulation "Atiduokit Mirusius" initialement sorti dans les pays de l'est fin 2008. Et si la scene métal de l'Europe de l'est est de plus en plus virulente, force est de constater que Dissimulation a de quoi tirer son épingle du jeu dans cette déferlante.
Evoluant dans un black death thrash old school, Dissimulation n'en reste pas moins un groupe d'une étonnante réactivité. En effet, au lieu de faire un bete copié/collé de ces styles musicaux différents, le groupe lithuanien va faire en sorte de prendre le meilleur du death old school a l'allemande (avec Kreator en tete – ils ont d'ailleurs participé a un tribute pour les deatheux teutons il y a quelques temps) et le mixer avec la seconde vague du black métal dans l'esprit de combos comme DarkThrone ou Immortal. Ajoutez a cela un soupcon de thrash et vous obtenez un condensé de musique extreme comme on aimerait en entendre plus souvent.
En effet, si Dissimulation peut s'apparenter de prime abord a un groupe d'une violence musicale extreme, il n'en n'est rien sur ce "Atiduokit Mirusius" puisque les lithuaniens ont eu l'excellente idée d'aérer leurs compositions et de couper les rythmes rapides avec des parties plus mid tempo comme sur "Prasmekit" ou l'excellent opener "Bilietas I Cirka".
A partir de la, il est clair que nous avons ici a faire a un groupe plus acéré qu'il n'y parait puisque chaque composition s'avere savamment travaillée. Ainsi, Dissimulation va développer tranquillement des morceaux relativement longs (plus de 5 minutes en moyenne) sur lesquels vont se greffer différents rythmes et ambiances.
Et l'étonnante alchimie death black thrash old school passe plutot bien ("Praregejimo Diena", "Šaltyje Akmens").
Auréolé de l'excellente production de Gints Lundbergs, "Atiduokit Mirusius" va parfaitement mettre en avant des compositions dignes de ce noms et des arrangements bien trouvés ("Šliundra", "Jums"). En effet, si Dissimulation reste assez sagement dans le giron du métal extreme, il n'en est pas moins un redoutable artificier du genre grace a une mise en place au cordeau et des bonnes idées parfaitement exploitées ("Aš Grifas").
Et a ce petit jeu la, on peut dire que le bassiste/chanteur Venomous y est pour quelque chose avec ses lignes de chant puissantes et relativement bien modulées ("Bilietas I Cirka", "Šaltyje Akmens").
Derriere, la machine Dissimulation tourne a plein régime, portée notamment par une batterie implacable jamais prise en défaut et des riffs particulierement assassins ("Šliundra") qui décolle le papier peint des murs. La puissante énergie déployée par les lithuaniens est canalisée pour n'en faire ressortir que le meilleur. C'est net et sans bavure…
Encore une fois, on reste pantois devant la vitalité du métal de l'Europe de l'est et avec ce "Atiduokit Mirusius" Dissimulation s'impose comme l'une des valeurs sure du métal made in Lituanie. L'excellent label Ledo Takas a eu du nez en signant Venomous et sa bande de fous furieux et tout laisse a croire que le groupe a le bagage nécessaire pour envahir l'Europe d'ici peu… [13,5 / 20]

Dopo i Soul Stealer, tocca ai connazionali Soul Stealer tenere alta la bandiera metallica lituana, con questo disco dal titolo "Atiduokit Mirusius", che rappresenta il terzo full-lenght della rispettabile carriera della band.
Dopo un'introduzione "circense" ci viene subito sparata in faccia "Bilietas i cirka", traccia di apertura del disco, che mette subito in mostra senza troppi fronzoli quello che e lo stile musicale proposto dai nostri: un black metal diretto e ferale, che non ha certo bisogno di troppe presentazioni, condito da un' elevatissima carica thrash, presente soprattutto in fase ritmica; le chitarre infatti sono in continuo bilico tra momenti piu "mosh" e le sfuriate tipiche del black metal, mentre invece il cantato si assesta sugli stilemi classici norvegesi, con uno screaming acido ed urlato.
Completano il tutto i testi dell'album, cantati tutti in lituano, che risultano ovviamente incomprensibili ma che donano comunque una buona musicalita complessiva ai pezzi; da segnalare inoltre che all'interno del booklet del cd sono presenti i testi tradotti in inglese, per una migliore comprensione complessiva.
La proposta black-thrash di questi lituani, che si snoda lungo tutti gli otto pezzi complessivi del disco, risulta tutto sommato gradevole, ma non riesce mai a fare sobbalzare dalla sedia o anche solo fare interessare in modo particolare l'ascoltatore; l'idea infatti di trovarsi davanti ad un prodotto che non sia, come si dice in questi casi, ne carne ne pesce e forte, e l'idea di mescolare due scuole musicali cosi diverse tra loro non mi ha sinceramente convinto in toto.
E' chiaro al tempo stesso che abbiamo comunque davanti una band con anni di esperienza alle spalle e convinta dei propri mezzi e possibilita, che realizza un disco sicuramente solido e completo.
Continuo pero a storcere il naso per l'idea di fondo, che non mi convince proprio del tutto.
Il mio consiglio pertanto e di provare a dare una ascoltata alla band per vedere se possa risultare di vostro gradimento; io, nel frattempo, mi pongo esattamente nel mezzo. [6 / 10]

Nigdy nie mialem zbytniej stycznosci z litewskim metalem. Nawet taki OBTEST omijalem szerokim lukiem. Lecz tym razem zostalem "zmuszony" do poobcowania z jednym z wazniejszych zespolow wywodzacych sie z "najglebszych czelusci" litewskiej sceny. Zespol DISSIMULATION nie jest jakos szczegolnie znany w swiecie, lecz w swym kraju ma wiele do powiedzenia. O czym swiadczy nominowanie do "Lithuanian Alternative Music Awards" wraz z w/w OBTEST. Do takich awardsow to byle kogo chyba nie biora, co? Natomiast muzycznie, kapelka ta rewolucji zbytniej nie czyni. Ot, taki sprawnie zagrany thrash/black na przyzwoitym poziomie, co sie aby nikt nie musial za chlopcow wstydzic. Osobiscie znam cala mase bardziej wartosciowych kapel, ktore w porownaniu z DISSIMULATION wypadaja o wiele lepiej poprzez nadanie znacznie wiekszej intensywnosci i dynamiki. I tych wlasnie skladnikow zapomniano dodac do tego dania. A szkoda, poniewaz album w tej ostatecznej formie jest zbyt bezpieczny. Brakuje szczerej wulgarnosci, ktora powinna definiowac tego typu granie. Oczywiscie, nic na sile. Brzmieniowo tez za miekko. Nie dziwi mnie za specjalnie ta "klarowna sciana", gdyz jest to tylko ogolnoswiatowy standard w dzisiejszych czasach. Gdyby w przyszlosci zrezygnowali z blackowych motywow na rzecz stuprocentowej eksploatacji zasobow thrash metalowych, na pewno efekt bylby o niebo lepszy niz tym razem. [6 / 10]

Pont a multkor emlitettem a Luctus kapcsan, hogy eddig nem igazan volt meg dolgom a litvan Ledo Takas kiadoval, de igy utolag visszagondolva ez nem teljesen igaz, mert a szinten litvan Dissimulation-nel mar korabban is osszehozott a jo sorsom. A 2005-os Prakeikimas, megjelenese eveben meglehetosen sokat porgott nalam, mert bar nem sokban tert el mas black-kel fuszerezett thrash metal bandak produktumaitol, azert szerintem meglehetosen kellemes kis anyag. Ebbol kifolyolag kivancsian vartam, hogy harom ev elteltevel mivel rukkolnak elo a sracok.
A borito szereny velemenyem szerint nem igenyel kulonosebb boncolgatast, tekintettel arra, hogy ez a giga-forditott kereszt mindent elarul, de nekem mindig szimpatikus, ha egy lemez artwork-je letisztult, es egyszeru, mert ezzel nem lehet mellenyulni. Arrol nem is beszelve, hogy a Prakeikimas doglott patkanyos design-ja utan ez a mostani igazi, nagybetus feludules.
Ahhoz kepest, hogy az elozo anyagon ket dallal kevesebb volt, az Atiduokit Mirusius megis par perccel rovidebb lett, ami azzal jart, hogy egy kisse megnyirbaltak a szamok hosszat. Persze igy sem kell grindcore-t megszegyenito idotartamokra gondolni, de ketsegtelen, hogy most melloztek a het perc feletti szosszeneteket.
A lemez nagyon tetszetosen kezdodik, a Bilietas I Cirka (azaz: jegy a cirkuszba) bevezetoje egy stilusos, idepasszolo cirkuszi bohockodas, melyet kovetoen persze a banda rogton kimutatja a foga feherjet. Kedvencem az As Grifas (keselyu vagyok) lett, mely egy huzos, fogos nota, ugyanakkor a legotletesebb es legatgondoltabb szerzemeny a korongon. Egyebkent folyamatosan, es valoszinuleg tudatosan igyekeztek valtozatossa tenni a repertoart, ami sikerult is, de neha jobban jartak volna, ha mellozik az erolkodest, mert ez helyenkent furcsa dolgokat eredmenyezett, lasd peldaul Šaltyje Akmens (a ko hidegeben).
Alapvetoen az egesz lemezre az a jellemzo, hogy vegig probalnak valami ujat mutatni, de ez vagy azert nem sikerul, mert olyan dolgokat vegyitenek a dalokba, amelyek nem igazan illenek a kepbe (szerencsere ebbol van kevesebb), vagy pedig olyan temakkal probalkoznak, melyek kapcsan mar maga az „ujitas” szo emlitese is vicces. Ettol fuggetlenul ez nagyon korrekt anyag, es kicsi az esely a csalodasra, ha valaki kedveli ezt a vonalat. Nem hiszem, hogy valaha elerik azt a szintet, hogy a vilag minden pontjan rajongok szazezrei extatikus hangulatba keruljenek a Dissimulation nev hallatan, de valoszinuleg nem is ez volt a celjuk a Atiduokit Mirusius-szal. Aki valami igenyes, ugyanakkor a nyelvezete miatt egzotikus cuccra vadaszik, az keressen ra a bandara. [7 / 10]

Albums like these really do sum up what old school Black and Thrash Metal was about – gloriously uncomplicated, direct and as heavy as a slab of granite. “Atiduokit Mirusius” about as heavy as the album title is unpronounceable and in many ways this almost is a near-perfect mix between the two styles that segues seamlessly between Thrash with Black vocals or vice versa and the crunchy production job brings out every ounce of bile present in the songs. Considering these guys hail from Lithuania and this album becomes even more of a joy to behold.
I’d be remiss if I don’t point out that some of the songs during the second half begins to drag a bit and that the stupid circus-theme intro is way out of place but overall this album does what it set out to – to Thrash and blaspheme heavily! In spite of the general briskness of the album many songs on here are quite technical, with lots of riffs and tempo changes thrown into the fray – see “Sliundra” and “As Grifas” – the latter track even embracing a strange sense of atonality not totally unlike what can be found in Immolation. On “Saltyje” they also prove themselves very adept at slower tempos, with the track having a cold, distant feel to it that contrasts well with the in-your-face Aura Noir-like Blackthrash of the other songs.
The Baltic states may not be a hive of Metal activity but DISSIMULATION are a quality outfit and a lot of work seems to have gone into this very professional sounding album that will find appeal among all who like old-school minded acts like the abovementioned Aura Noir as well as Tyrant and Desaster. No masterpiece but very good at what it aims for. [7 / 10]

The bands that are usually signed to the roster of Ledo Takas, a label from Lithuania, can be classified as ranging from decent to rather good. So expectations are not necessary low on first hearing Dissimulation's Atiduokit Mirusius. Still, this particular album turns out to be not really that interesting.
It's the standard combination of a mash up between thrash, mid tempo black and some death elements added. While this could make for a nice combination; in this case there is not much that stands out. The riffs are suspended, so to say: they drag the momentum of the songs down to a level where variation is irrelevant and where there is no real tension or aggression left. These are riffs that would do well in bridging minutes either of groove or of aggression, but as it stands, these two latter elements are nowhere to be found. This leaves a record that will probably never urge anyone to jump up and have a go at blowing one's top, so to say. [60 / 100]

Dreieinhalb Jahre nach dem mächtigen Black/Thrash-Vorschlaghammer "Prakeikimas" sind Litauens führende Thrasher endlich mit einem Nachfolger am Start. Dieser hört auf den Namen "Atiduokit Mirusius" und zeigt das Trio aus Anyksciai in unverändert brachialer Durchschlagskraft. Nach einem kurzen Zirkus-Intro drischt der Opener 'Bilietas I Cirka' gleich richtig aggressiv ins Gebälk. Das wuchtige Schlagwerk des Herrn Stabmeldys, die pechschwarzen Riffs aus Nekrofagas Gitarre, und dazu der pumpende Bass und die heißere Kehle des Frontmannes Venomous ergänzen sich zu einem giftigen Gebräu, das erneut die litauische Produzenten-Legende Gints Lundbergs im Soundkessel des Phoenix Studios bei Riga zusammengerührt und mit einer besonderen klanglichen Würze versehen hat. Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich, was für tolle Produktionen in diesem Studio schon entstanden sind.
Doch zurück zu DISSIMULATIONs neuem Werk, das in den getrageneren Passagen mal an die thrashige Phase von IMMORTAL erinnert, an Zeiten als deren Scheibe "Damned In Black" erschien. Wenn die Litauer das Gaspedal etwa bei 'Praregejimo Diena' stärker drücken, dann hält auch eine gewisse punkige Räudigkeit Einzug, die an eine Mischung aus VENOM und IMPALED NAZARENE gemahnt. Vor wir jedoch zu sehr in prominente Vergleich verfallen, sei gesagt, dass die Scheibe aus eigener Kraft und auf eigenen Füßen steht und all die genannten Vergleiche nur grobe Anhaltspunkte für diejenigen liefern können, die DISSIMULATION noch nicht gehört haben. So ist das clean eingeleitete und sich danach extrem heavy und explosiv entwickelnde 'Saltyje Akmens' ein eigenständiges Highlight, das eben keine zwingenden Vergleiche zu anderen Bands heraufbeschwört. Genauso geht es mir beim zäh groovenden 'Prasmekit', das einige sehr eigenwillige Leads aufweist und in seinem stoisch hämmernden Drive sehr urig wirkt. Man kommt sich hier vor wie in der Hammerschmiede, während beim rockigen 'As Grifas' gar ein gewisses 'Orgasmatron'-Feeling aufkommt.
Es ist DISSIMULATION ein weiteres Mal gelungen, einen sehr druckvollen Bastard aus dem teutonischen Metal alter Schule und zeitgemäß produziertem, aber dennoch traditionellem Black Metal zu schaffen, der keine erkennbaren Schwächen aufweist. Sämtliche Texte sind wie gehabt in litauischer Sprache abgefasst, aber zusätzlich in englischen Übersetzungen beigefügt. Was das Cover-Artwork angeht, müsst ihr euch von der rechts abgebildeten unspektakulären Schuber-Version nicht erschrecken lassen: Das Paket enthält zusätzlich ein toll aufgemachtes Booklet, das ordentlich was fürs Auge bietet. Der Aufkleber auf der CD spricht vom "litauischen Hunger". Der sei teuflisch, sarkastisch, düster und verachtend. Ich hoffe, dass ihr Appetit bekommen habt.

Dissimulation is a Lithuanian band that plays an atractive mix between black and thrash metal. On their latest album 'Atiduokit Mirusius' we can find another 8 tracks of blasting black metal all recorded in their native language. I prefer to call this cd more black metal then thrash metal cause the entire atmosphere and sound of the record just breathes the negativity of black metal, but I must say that the songs contain great thrash riffs that would do well on any thrash metal band album when they have the proper tuning. As I'm not that into black metal, and definatly not into the vocals of your average black metal record the album required some adjusting for me, but once I started to really listen to the music I must admit that this really is a very strong album. I would advise black metal fans to check out this band. [67 / 100]

Nemam rad všakovake miešanie metalovych odnoži a maločo z tohto "viac – chutoveho tovaru" ma vyraznejšie zaujme. Takou vynimkou potvrdzujucou pravidlo je tzv. thrash/black metal, ktoreho spravne namiešanie dokaže byt ve?mi zaujimave a uchu lahodiace. Skvelym prikladom su napr. nemecki Desaster, norski Aura Noir, či prave recenzovani DISSIMULATION z Litvy.
Ich minuloročny počin „Atiduokit Mirusius“ je ich prvou nahravkou, s ktorou sa stretavam, ale určite si časom posvietim aj na staršie veci. Po poriadnom napočuvani novinky, si som isty, že neobanujem...
Hudba, s ktorou tu mame dočinenia, nie je žiadnou kopirkou thrashovych kapiel 80-tych rokov. Nie je to ani absolutne sa nemeniaca, bezducha smršt; prave naopak, prekvapila ma svojou vyspelostou, technikou a roznorodostou.
Všetci traja pani, stojaci za tymto albumom, na mna svojimi vykonmi urobili značny dojem. Ich muzika je plna typickej thrashovej nasranosti a agresie, blackovej temnoty, no na druhej strane zabija aj technikou a preciznostou. „Atiduokit Mirusius“ nie je lahko predvidatelna doska, pri prvych posluchoch ma neustale prekvapovala roznymi gitarovymi vyhravkami, nečakanymi zmenami tempa a meniacimi sa melodiami. Obsahuje toho naozaj dost a jeho dokladne poznanie a napočuvanie si vyžaduje dlhši čas. Priznam sa, že ja osobne by som možno prijal viac priamočiarejšiu hudbu, miestami mi totiž pride ona technika na ukor atmosfery, ale to je samozrejme vec vkusu a takychto miest je na albume minimum. Hudbu vyborne doplna vokal, ktory je rovnako ako hudba roznorody, meniaci polohy a rozhodne je dostojnym partnerom hudobnym nastrojom. Texty su v rodnom jazyku, takže som im nerozumel ani pol slova. Mali by však blahorečit temnotu, diabla a rozsievat proti krestanske myšlienky.
Zvuk tejto „blasfemii“ ešte pridava na obratkach a našlapanosti, je čisty a neuveritelne hutny, vdaka čomu počut každučky ton velmi zretelne a jasne. Ved napokon by bola škoda tuto pekelne dobru muziku schovavat v zahuhlanej zvukovej guli.
DISSIMULATION je pre mna prijemnym objavom a „Atiduokit Mirusius“ hodnotim ako silnu, našlapanu muziku, v ktorej agresia, technika a chytlave melodie spolu tvoria velmi svojsku a nezamenitelnu atmosferu.

That’s definitely nice piece of pure black/thrash material. One sides looks like typical old school music, but the second one shows own way. So I’ll gladly recommend this album to the fans of 80’s and 90’s, but it necessarily doesn’t mean that DISSIMULATION are only for "old" listeners. I think there’re many positive facts about new album, especially in sound.

With this third album, DISSIMULATION brings its best opus so far. The Lithuanians took the best ingredients of their previous releases (Maras-2002, Prakeikimas-2005) to cook some great opus of blackened thrash metal. Less black than "Maras", less thrash than "Prakeikimas", "Atiduokit mirusius" is the perfect blend of rough musics. The songs are more varied than before, with different kinds of tempos, great riffs and excellent guitar leads. The vocals have become more expressive, more versatile, in a word better. The Lithuanian lyrics sound nice to the ears, and the sound production has increased to reach a perfect level. Everything has been made to build an excellent album for each and every thrash or old school black thrash addicts. [5 / 6]

Ik krijg het idee dat Impaled Nazarene een zeer populaire band is in Litouwen. Van de drie bands uit Litouwen die ik deze maand bespreek, zijn er twee met duidelijke invloeden van onze Finse vrienden. Ook Dissimulation vermengt black metal met crust, punk en rock-’n-roll invloeden. De band doet dat op zich niet onverdienstelijk. De nummers op ‘Atiduokit Mirusius’  zijn echter niet allemaal even sterk en zanger Venomous werkt af en toe een beetje op mijn zenuwen, zodat de CD niet de volledige speelduur blijft boeien. Toch maakt ook Dissimulation duidelijk dat er wel degelijk potentie in de Litouwse metalscene zit. [73 / 100]

Manch ein Schreiberling wird sich vielleicht nur noch düster an den brachial-thrashenden Vorschlaghammer namens "Prakeikimas" aus dem Jahre 2005 erinnern. Ich dagegen höre Songs wie "As Jusu Prakeikimas" oder auch "Karo Ugnys / I Dausas" noch klar und deutlich in meinen Ohrmuschelverzweigungen, denn mich ereilte dieses Schaffenswerk erst im letzten Jahr zur Besprechung. Nun liegt mir der neueste Teufelsstreich von DISSIMULATION vor und auch hier breiten sich vornehmlich die sarkastischen, bestialischen, verabscheuenden und vor allem tiefschwarzen Noten im Halbdunkel meines Zimmers aus.
Auf den Namen "Atiduokit Mirusius" wurde dieser getauft und auch hier haben die drei Berserker aus Anyksciai nichts einbüßen müssen von ihrer Dynamik, ihrer wilden Aggression und ihrer brachialen Macht.
Zuerst heißt es im DISSIMULATION-Zirkus "Manege Frei!", denn das thrashige Schwarzwurzelkunstwerk wird  noch recht fröhlich und stimmungstäuschend eingeläutet, bevor einem der Opener "Bilietas I Cirka" gleich mächtig den Hintern versohlt. Aggressiv und ohne Rücksicht auf zarte Gemüter wird hier losgeholzt, Venomous krächzt heiser und Unheil verkündend ins Mikro, sorgt dabei noch für die abgrundtiefen Basstöne, Stabmeldys schwingt unbarmherzig die Stäbe, lässt sie auf das Fell nieder preschen und sie dort mit den sirrend-schwarzen Riffs von Nekrofagas eins werden. Auf Dauer wäre dies aber etwas eintönig und so werden die Abschnitte auch stellenweise mal etwas schleppender und dann biegt man aber auch rasch wieder auf den Highway ab, um mächtig die Geschwindigkeit anzuziehen. Ist dies wie bei "Praregejimo Diena" der Fall, werde ich etwas an die punkige Räudigkeit von Impaled Nazaren erinnert – was nicht gerade nachteilig ist, vor allem da es nur eine Erinnerung ist und keine Kopie. Klar und fast schon anmutig beginnt "Saltyje Akmens", welches sich als echter Heavyknaller entpuppen soll, wogegen "Prasmekit" sich unverwüstlich durch die  Minuten groovt. Ordneltich gerockt wird dann noch mal bei "As Grifas", was mir persönlich ein ganz besonderes Feeling verpasst.
Produziert wurde dieses rohe und brillante Elixier erneut von dem litauischen Produzenten-Ass Gints Lundbergs in den mittlerweile schon legendären Phoenix Studios bei Riga. Osteuropa lebt und vor allem im Black bzw. Pagan-Metal-Sektor treten hier echte Perlen aus dem Untergrund ans Tageslicht.
Ich selbst bin wahrlich begeistert von diesem Schaffenswerk und kann DISSIMULATION nur ein weiteres Mal zu einer gelungenen Produktion der niederträchtig -schwarzen Kunst gratulieren. Ich hoffe, dass auch euch bald der teuflische, sarkastische, düstere und verachtende Hunger auf diese Berserker packt – ganz wie es eben das Baperl auf der Hülle verheiß! Guten Appetit! [8 / 10]

Add circus music to the list of ominous black metal intros. Especially to a "black/thrash" album. Because unless you're Arcturus and fuckery is what you're genuinely all about, it's probably not okay. As a thrash intro it isn't quite right either, after all this isn't Toxik and this doesn't hold a candle to World Circus.
And unfortunately it's a slow roll down hill from that intro on Dissimulation's Atiduokit Mirusius. They are supposedly playing black/thrash metal... which means I'm writing the Great American Novel or some such tripe. Uh huh. That's exactly what I thought.
Aside from a few tossed off riffs in each song, this is not thrashing metal at all, in any way (remember that, don't be fooled by marketing and cleverly worded album cover stickers!). Dissimulation has an annoying tendency to open these songs with fast near-thrash melodic death metal runs before OH GOD, THE HORROR! It's, it's... bouncy? Yes, that's the word that keeps circling the drain in my head. Stuck there, like the goofy bouncing beats that anchor everyone of these goddamned songs. I'd say it's punkish, but then one might assume I'm referencing the punkish black metal of later Darkthrone, and I'm sure as hell not doing that. Nope. This is punkish, as in almost POP-punkish. And the only thrashiness is NWOAHM thrashiness (which, let's be honest, isn't really thrashiness at all). So strangely upbeat I can only listen to a few songs at a time before complete disgust settles in. Lamb O' God, Shadows Fall, God Forbid? Yep, mix that with a little of The Offspring and that's what it reminds me of. Except for the vocalist, 'cause he's still grim and reptilian as hell: BLACK METAL IST KRIEG for life, yay!
And if it wasn't for those vocals and the infrequent buzzing guitars, this would have nothing to do with black metal. Robust production, melodies stolen from Top 40 radio and wonderfully catchy choruses (catchy in Lithuanian no less! and that's saying a lot when a band can be catchy in a language of which I don't know a single fucking word). My guess is Dissimulation is going for that later Darkthrone vibe, mixed with a little Venom and a little Mercyful Fate, but if this album is any indication of their aim, these dudes couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat in the middle of the Baltic Sea. If this is the future of any kind of black metal, the future isn't very dark or very metal. I don't need grimness or iciness or obscurity to like a black metal album, but I at least like it to be, get this, black metal. Replace the singer, write the lyrics in English, and any number of these songs could be played on active rock radio (and no, that is not a compliment; I will never view accessibility as a good quality in black metal).
Maybe I'm being harsh, but an album that claims to be black/thrash metal, yet reminds me of Metallica's Black Album, Cryptic Writings-era Megadeth, The Offspring and Lamb Of God is necessarily a complete failure and waste of time. Maybe Dissimulation's older material is better, but Atiduokit Misurius is to be avoided. [3,6 / 10]

Die Band bestehend aus 3 Mann kommt aus Litauen und hat bisschen mehr den old scool Sound auf Lager. Gerne eine Mischung aus Black und Thrash aus alten Tagen gewuerzt mit einer Brise old scool death. Das finden sich schon mal Bands wie Darkthrone, Hellhammer und Destruction aus alten Tagen in allerbesten Soundgewandt wieder. [4 / 5]

DISSIMULATION sind eine Band aus Litauen, welche ihr erstes Demo ("Juodo Mėnulio Pasveikinta") im Jahre 1997 veröffentlicht haben. Darauf folgten eine EP und zwei Alben. "Atiduokit Mirusius" ist das dritte Album, welches am 06.10 über Ledo Takas Records veröffentlicht wurde.
Zuallererst fällt auf, dass die Produktion verdammt gut geworden ist. Was wohl daran liegt, dass dieses Album im Phoenix Studio aufgenommen und gemastert wurde, wo schon Bands wie Skyforger und Obtest waren.
Musikalisch wird dem geneigten Hörer Black Metal mit einer ordentlichen Portion Thrash geboten. Die Songs sind rau und brutal und haben dennoch ein Gespür für eine gewisse Melodie. Um sich am besten ein Bild von DISSIMULATIONs Musik zu machen, stellt euch einfach die Mucke von Finntroll vor, allerdings ohne jeglichen Humpaa-Anteil, sondern komplett auf den Metal-Anteil reduziert. Vor allem die Vocals von Venomous klingen sehr nach dem Finntroll-Fronter. Dennoch schaffen es die Litauer ein völlig eigenständiges Werk zu erschaffen, dass sich vor anderen Bands des Black/Thrash Genres definitiv nicht zu verstecken braucht.
Fazit: „Atiduokit Mirusius“ ist ein sehr gutes Werk, das wieder einmal zeigt, dass die Litauer es ebenfalls draufhaben fette Produktionen und gute Alben zu erschaffen. [8 / 10]

Der Ostblock und die baltischen Länder zeigen bereits seit Jahren, dass es dort in Sachen Extrem Metal guten Nachschub gibt. So sind die pechschwarzen Thrasher von DISSIMULATION eins der Aushängeschilder des Baltikums. Die Litauer tummeln sich bereits länger im Underground der Black Thrash-Szene und brachten Ende 2008 ihr drittes Prügeleisen namens „Atiduokit Mirusius“ via Ledo Takas Records heraus.
Netterweise haben die Balten ihre litauischen Texte im Booklet ins Englische übersetzt, und so lässt es sich auch nachvollziehen, was auf der Platte von Venomous, dem giftigen Sänger, gebrüllt wird. Lyrisch ist man auf „Go to hell“-Kurs und gesungen wird aus dem typischen Text-Repertoire einer Black Thrash-Band. Was das Dreigestirn auf der Platte abliefert, ist tiefschwarzes Riffgewitter und sägende Gitarren. Eindeutige Einflüsse sind mit Sicherheit ältere DARKTHRONE und KREATOR. Fans von NOCTURNAL BREED dürfte es besonders gut gefallen. Man ist im rauen Thrash angesiedelt, was vor allem mit diesen entscheidenden Black Metal-Einflüssen ein gewaltiges gitarrenbetontes Werk auf den Rohling zaubert. Es sind gut durchstrukturierte Songs, die mit Hammerriffs im Midtempo, mit peitschendem Drumming und fiesem Gesang sehr überzeugend und drückend wirken. Sowohl „Bilietas i cirka“, der Opener mit klassischem „Zirkusintro“, als auch das folgende „Silundra“ zeigen eine Vielfalt an Riffs und hervorragender Gitarrenarbeit. Es ist rau, groovend, zermürbend und hart. DISSIMULATION zeigen hierbei auch eigenständige Kompositionen („Saltyje akmens“ und „Jums“), wo sie feinsten Black Thrash der eigenen Art zelebrieren. Es ist sehr old-schoolig eingespielt, denn diverse Momente zeigen doch öfter KREATOR- oder DESTRUCTION-Facetten und -Einflüsse.
„Atiduokit Mirusius“ ist ein starker Nackenbrecher, der sowohl Old-School-Blackies als auch Old-School-Thrashern gefallen müsste. Es ist ein gutes solides Werk, das keinen Hänger hat und von vorne bis hinten ohne Kompromisse knallt. Gitarrenliebhaber und Riff-Fetischisten werden ihre Freude mit diesem Teil haben. Die Produktion ist sehr ordentlich und klingt nicht überproduziert, sehr sauber und zu keiner Zeit überreizt.
Ein gelungenes Werk, das die Fan-Gemeinde der Litauer vergrößern müsste. Es ist eine Empfehlung wert. Der Osten kommt! [7 / 10]

Hoy rayos y centellas serpentean dejando paso segundos despues a la ira desatada de Thor que golpea un cielo plagado de cumulonimbos con su martillo celestial, Mjolnir, provocando un ruido ensordecedor. Momento mas que oportuno para escuchar a unos nada apocados Dissimulation.
Estos lituanos, oriundos de una ciudad modesta llamada Anykščiai, formaron esta banda en 1993. En sus comienzos musicalmente orientados hacia un Black Metal Old School, deambulando despues por un camino mas sordido y conspicuo en la onda de los mismisimos Darkthrone, actualmente con este nuevo disco dan una vuelta mas de tuerca consiguiendo un sonido mas propio con el que facilmente en el futuro se les podra identificar. Evolucionan desde un sonido primigenio en su debut “Maras”, seguido por un ramalazo thrashero en su “Prakeikimas” a un sonido mas tecnico, sintetico y aspero, dejando atras los guinos sempiternos a Kreator y embadurnandose de potencia y poderio sonoro muy en la onda de Slayer, sin dejar a Coroner de lado.
Este tercer trabajo, de titulo “Atiduokit Mirusius”, logra captar un sonido mas propio pero nada edulcorado. Intenso, denso y oscuro sin conformarse con encorsetarse ante unos estilos perfectamente delimitados sino que implementan guinos hacia otras estructuras sonicas dejando paso a temas mas Death y otros mas propiamente blackmetaleros con el hilo conductor del Thrash Metal perfectamente ejecutado entre ellos. “Atiuokit Mirusius” es un vistazo hacia unas estructuras complejas pero asequibles para cualquier oyente que se derraman estoicamente en 8 temas, todos escritos en lituano, y que con 39 minutos de duracion explicitan la realidad de la concupiscencia en la que nos hallamos, el odio agarrado a emociones violentas que atenazan la propia existencia del ser humano.
La produccion es mas que aceptable,bastante buena para ser precisos, lo que provoca que este CD pueda escucharse de forma diafana apreciando con mayor nitidez todos los detalles.
Estos 8 temas difieren bastante los unos de los otros, facilitando en todo momento la escucha, no anquilosandose en estructuras repetitivas una y otra vez, perpetrados con una tecnica mas depurado que en los trabajos precedentes. Temas excesivos y complejos que contrastan con otros mas explosivos y sencillos, como seria el caso de “Praregejimo Diena”. Una sencillez que no lo convierte en menos atractivo sino que es un ejemplo mas de las infulas camaleonicas de los lituanos. Ramalazos heavys se difuminan con acierto con una intensidad vehemente en la ejecucion de las canciones destacando los alaridos del vocalista, una voz rasgada y atiplada que goza de diferentes registros aunque evitando caer en el guturo grave y denso que en ocasiones se echa de menos.
Concluyendo, este disco no nos ofrece nada nuevo. Pero complementa dos estilos de manera acertada aunque se podia esperar mas velocidad y agresividad en este “experimento”. El que no sea asi no arruina el resultado sino que es un punto de vista particular que desarrolla la autentica firma de Dissimulation. La asimetria de las composiciones y la densidad que destila ante una atmosfera diabolica y mesurada lo convierten en un album que probablemente guste tanto a los blacker como a los thrashers sin dejar de lado al resto de amantes del metal extremo en todas sus variantes. Los puristas pueden tener sus “peros” aunque resulta indiscutible que estamos ante una gran banda de la que se seguira hablando en un futuro no muy lejano. [6,5 / 10]
